He's athletic enough to pull if needed and doesn't lean too far forward when run blocking.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As a pass protector, he picks up blitzes well and does a good job getting his arms extended on the defender. He sometimes telegraphs whether it's a run or a pass by his stance, but that's something he can easily fix this offseason. He's a good run blocker who gets under people and knows to keep his head and hips between the defender and the ball carrier. He drives his feet through contact and can bury defensive linemen who dive at his legs. Heppenstall could improve his foot speed as a pass blocker and mirror the defender with his legs rather than open his hips up. Mission Viejo will often pull him outside on sweeps and he gets to the second level well.
