Expert Analysis
Michael Huntley | Prep Redzone Scout
Heppenstall had a decent showing at the Prep Redzone Stock Up Showcase in January. He’s a good run blocker who gets under people and knows to keep his head and hips between the defender and the ball carrier. He drives his feet through contact and can bury defensive linemen who dive at his legs. Heppenstall could improve his foot speed as a pass blocker and mirror the defender with his legs rather than open his hips up. He can play center or guard and a strong offseason in the weight room could make him a very good offensive lineman his senior year.

The Tesoro product is a interior mauler that finished blocks at the first level and gets immediate vertical push inside and moves extremely well for his size. He shows he can quickly snap out of his stance with a strong base and punch and wins with leverage and power at the point of attack. He is not passive in pass protection and is always looking for work while a high IQ blocker that can play multiple positions along the interior. He is a D3+ caliber player and should draw plenty of next level attention through his senior season and lands on our WL rankings in this update.
