Prep Redzone Announces Partnership with Universal Speed Rating
Prep Network is proud to announce a landmark partnership with Universal Speed Rating (USR) to deliver standardized, third-party athletic measurements at more than 100 showcase events in 2026, including NFL-level combine testing at every Prep Redzone showcase and camp nationwide.
This expanded partnership ensures that all combine measurements collected at Prep Redzone events will be administered and verified by Universal Speed Rating, creating consistent, objective performance data across the country. By implementing a single standardized testing protocol at every event, Prep Redzone and USR are eliminating regional variance and delivering a true national benchmark for athletic performance.
At each showcase, athletes will participate in a full slate of combine-style testing, including:
- 40-Yard Dash (Laser Timed)
- Pro Shuttle
- Broad Jump
- L-Drill
All results will feed directly into the new Prep Redzone x USR National Leaderboard, allowing athletes to see exactly where they rank, not just within their event, but across the entire country.
Leaders from each showcase will earn placement on the national leaderboard, creating a verified, data-driven snapshot of top performers nationwide. All measurements will also appear on each athlete's Prep Redzone profile, providing college coaches with standardized, reliable evaluation metrics they can trust.
Universal Speed Rating was founded with a clear mission: to help athletes train smarter and play faster by removing guesswork from performance evaluation. With more than 100,000 athletes tested nationwide and over 200 Speed Lab performance partners across the country, Universal Speed Rating has become a trusted authority in standardized athletic testing and performance data.
A key component of this partnership is access to the nationwide USR Speed Lab network. After testing at a Prep Redzone showcase, athletes can connect directly with a Speed Lab in their area to receive targeted training designed to improve measurable performance. Athletes can then return to future showcases to retest and track verified improvement over time, turning showcase testing into a measurable development pathway.
This partnership with Universal Speed Rating dramatically impacts the value that we can create for our athletes and for athletes attending our events,” said Nick Carroll, Chief Growth Officer and Co-Founder of Prep Network. “By using the same best-in-class testing at every Prep Redzone showcase, we are setting a true national standard that coaches, athletes, and families can trust, both for development and exposure.
We're excited to work with Prep Network to raise the standard for how athletic performance is measured nationwide. When testing is verified and standardized, athletes gain clarity, coaches gain confidence, and the data truly matters,” said Drew Zwiers, Co-Founder, Universal Speed Rating. “Through our nationwide Speed Lab network, athletes have a clear path to improve their numbers and return to retest under the same trusted system. Together with Prep Network, we are building a true national performance ecosystem for athletes in 2026 and beyond.
This partnership marks a significant step forward in bringing objective, nationwide athletic benchmarking to Prep Network showcases. By combining third-party verification, national leaderboards, and direct access to performance training through the Speed Lab network, Prep Network, and Universal Speed Rating are creating a true end-to-end performance ecosystem for athletes in 2026 and beyond.
