Prep Redzone Next New Jersey Camp: Linebacker Notebook

In this feature from Prep Redzone Next's New Jersey Exposure Camp, I share my positional notes for the group aforementioned in this article's title. More coverage on different groups will be forthcoming in the days to follow, so be sure to check back later!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Linebacker Notebook</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Admittedly, I did not get an extended look at the linebacking corps at this event - but I will report on what I did witness...</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2070614' first='Sawyer' last='Jones'] was named the position's top performer and stood out in the minds of evaluators and coaches alike. For me, the most distinguishing ability Jones demonstrated was how his length allowed him to recover. Standing at 6'2", he had perhaps the most distinct size advantage when matched up. It will be interesting to see how his game translates to the high school level.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Perhaps he switched positions or perhaps he switched positions at some point, but Elijah Cater left the field leaving everything he had. Carter, who I had noted as a running back, showed a willingness to do the dirty work, getting a face full of turf pellets in the process, in order to secure the ball on diving catches. Moreover, he has the speed to separate from a linebacker almost at will. However, during indy I would like to see him finish his reps with a burst of speed.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In terms of youngsters, I reported that 2031 (7th grade) linebacking prospect Bryan Bruno had some wheels.
