We take a look at another position breakdown across the Peace Garden State, this time locking in with this athlete group as we break them down from 5 to 1 for the best 2027 athletes this class has to offer. We found, our ATH5 from the middle of nowhere, two athletes from Shanley, and another two from powerhouse Kindred to make up the best of the North Dakota has to offer.

Speed, elusivenss, vision are the first three traits you will want to see out of our ATH5 which is also a newcomer to our 2027 North Dakota rankings, which is [player_tooltip player_id='2103758' first='Julian' last='Gant'] from Alexander. The 6'3 160 pounder, is also very instinctive on both sides of the ball and he wastes no time showing it on tape as Julian also is very sudden in his burst and knows how to build it up on his runs with his long strides that can take it up the A-gap or the edges as a pure mismatch in the running game. Length is also another area Julian has to his advantage as he knows how to use it on his tape at safety. He surely is a hidden gem out of Alexander that I can't even find on Twitter yet. You should surley see this young man move up quick in this 2027 ND class.

This class of athletes within our top 5 is one that has really grown on me over the last couple weeks, as ATH4 is [player_tooltip player_id='852668' first='Will' last='Ness'] from Fargo Shanley who is a playmaker on both sides of the ball. The 5'11 165 pounder defines the term "athlete" simply, as his ball-tracking and footwork as a cornerback for the Deacons should pass any evaluators eye-test very quickly when you roll his first clip. There is no doubt you have to love this kid's instincts for the cornerback position at the next-level as Will has a great feel especially on deep routes. He also has excellent vision in open space as a slot receiver and oddly is a hidden gem on his recruiting trail that you have to know out of Fargo.

You want to talk about athletes that are a workhorse for yards, and create chaos on the defenisve side of the ball? Look no further than [player_tooltip player_id='1566692' first='Myles' last='Thielges'] who hails from the hotbed of Kindred Vikings in this 2027 class. The way this young man runs thru defenders is authoritive for his size, as Myles plays with a chip on his shoulder it feels like every rep he throws out on tape. He's an ahtlete that you can line up just about anyhwere and have success on either side of the ball. He's fluid when he gets open space and even though it's an overused word you can't miss on the instincts he has especially on the defensive side of the ball. A stockriser that you don't want to miss out of this class.

A first-team All-Stater as a junior for Fargo Shanley and our ATH2 in our 2027 North Dakota rankings, is [player_tooltip player_id='852667' first='Kai' last='Zabel']. He's one of the smoothest route-runners you are going to find in this class and one that surely almost makes it look effortless when you roll his tape from last fall. He's absoulute problem for defenses in the open field with how many ways he can burn you with his legs especially when he gets the jet sweep and utilzes his vision. Kai is very agile and racks up plenty of YAC yards whenever the ball is in his hands and surely is another 27' that is more under the radar than he should be in my eyes as our ATH2.

Brooks has several P4 offers and is one of two athletes in our top 5 out of what is the Kindred Vikings hotbed of football prospects. The 6'5 205 pounder has absurd length that he uses persistently to his advantage against much smaller defensive backs and is a lethal weapon in the open field. The yards after contact and sound route-running ability are constantly on display when you watch Brooks stretch the field with all the athleticism he has at his disposal. The massive catch radius is one of the best ones the Dakotas has seen in a while at the wide receiver position in my eyes over the last several years. No doubt about it, that Brooks has the most secure spot as our ATH1 in the class.
