Metro Area Private School Standouts Pt. 2

He doesn't have a ton of junior tape, but what he did post was encouraging. On the tape he did post, Treichel proved to be a solid possession catch wideout who is capable of bringing down balls in key moments for short gains. He does a nice job of bringing down balls in tight coverage and works hard upfield for extra yardage. On his junior tape, his quickness was one of the first things that stood out to me. Brown isn't the biggest back, but once he bursts through the first line of defenders, he's liable to break off for a first down. He's elusive when leaking out of the backfield on a pass, which is further proven by the success he saw catching the ball last season. His hands are way better than I expected, and he's able to make tough catches in the flats before breaking them further downfield. On his tape, Marx looks like a big and aggressive athlete who can make plays both as a run stopper and as a pass rusher. He has an explosive get off and does a great job of using his long arms to lock out on tackles before shedding the block and making a play on the ball carrier. The best tool in his bag is his bull rush. Marx gets low and drives his feet hard, pushing the tackle right back into the QB, collapsing the pocket. On offense, he rushed for 489 yards and 8 TDs in just 5 games, and with the two RBs ahead of him graduated, that number is sure to rise. On defense, he brought down 37 total tackles, 2 TFLs, 1.0 sack, 1 INT, and 1 fumble recovery. Larson is a hard runner who churns his legs relentlessly upon contact and has surprising vision for an underclassman. He's a great one-cut back, and I love how he finds open run lanes even if the path he's supposed to take has collapsed in front of him. He's also got a nice burst through the LOS, which allows him to gash defenses on dive plays. His junior film isn't particularly deep, but it can be valuable. For a 270-lb prospect, Chaves moves really well. He's got quick feet and does a nice job of using his hands to work through offensive linemen, whether that be a swim move or a chop of their hands before throwing them by. On the other side of the ball, Frey caught 7 passes for 154 yards and 3 TDs in a run-heavy offensive scheme. On his tape from last season, Frey does a lot of things right on both sides of the ball. He showcased solid ball tracking and impressive quickness on offense, highlighted by his bringing down deep back-shoulder fades, sometimes in tight coverage. On defense, he can provide tight-man coverage on receivers downfield, often not giving them an inch to work with. In zone, he crashes hard and reads the QB's eyes well. He is, however, gearing up for a big senior campaign that could see his role on that St. Croix Lutheran defense grow significantly. On his junior tape, Kucharski does a nice job of sticking with his man, even when the QB has an abundance of time to throw.
