We made it. During the last few months, Prep Redzone Iowa has updated its 2026-2028 Class rankings and released its initial 2029 Watch List.

More updates will be arriving in the spring as we dig into more film. So, if you haven't yet put together highlights from the 2025 season, there's time to post them before we reevaluate. It will run out quickly, however.

Yrkoski was at the controls of a St. Albert offense that helped the Falcons fly into the postseason last fall. The sophomore threw for 1,155 yards and 14 touchdowns against just three interceptions. A three-sport athlete, Yrkoski is agile behind center, as we see when watching his 10th-grade highlight video. He's a big, strong presence in the pocket with a live arm capable of pushing the ball downfield. It doesn't take a lot of effort in doing that or when zipping the ball into tight windows. It's a technically sound operation with good mechanics. St. Albert doesn't ask him to run much, but Yrkoski moves well, allowing him to avoid the rush and pick up yards with his legs.

Sadr isn't an unknown commodity in our state, as his ranking would indicate. Sometimes, a prospect needs a fresh evaluation, however. That's what we're doing for the Treynor sophomore, who posted 40.0 tackles in 2025. Twenty two of those stops were solo and 11.5 of them resulted in lost yardage for the opponent. Sadr also was credited with a pancake block for his work on the offensive line. He certainly has made strides as a player from out last scouting report about eight months ago. We see that when watching his 10th-grade highlight video. Sadr fires off of the snap whether he's lining up with his hand on the ground in the middle of a three-man front or coming from the outside. He uses his hands well and is physical, especially for his age. That should only increase as his frame fills out.

Vanderpuye served as a backup varsity kicker as a sophomore behind a senior in 2025. He kicked off 14 times with two touchbacks, and knocked through both of his extra-point attempts. Vanderpuye also spent time developing on the sophomore squad this past fall in preparation for competing for the starting job in this coming campaign. His 10th-grade highlight video lends insight into Vanderpuye's abilities and potential. Any easy, compact leg swing gets through the ball quickly and with power in place kicking. His kickoff also is smooth with plenty of leg. The foundation is there as he builds on it with more reps.

Monaghan has been on our radar at Prep Redzone for some time. We finally got a chance to check out his sophomore highlight video from 2025 for evaluation. The versatile Columbus Catholic student-athlete contributed a 15-yard reception on offense, but did most of his damage on the other side of the ball. Monaghan registered 17.5 tackles, 13 of which were solo stops. He intercepted a pass, defended two passes and recovered a fumble. He averaged 14.0 yards on a pair of punt returns. We see that athleticism allowing contributions all around field when watching his clips. The first one has him lining up at safety, where he reads the play and breaks on a ball for a pick. Monaghan sets up off the edge on the second play and crashes down on the run. He has room to fill out and add strength, which should help him continue ascending as a prospect.

Adams spent his sophomore season of 2025 developing on the West Des Moines Valley 10th-Grade/Junior Varsity team. In a program historically strong at producing prospects for the next level, it's the most common path to impacting the varsity as an upperclassmen. There's not a lot of video available on Adams' Hudl page, what we can find could foreshadow big things to come for the lineman. He's advanced from a size and physicality standpoint. Adams is quick off of the ball and puts defenders on their heels in a hurry. The 10th-grader operates with good hand placement and active hands. While power and strength stand out the most when it comes to Adams, but he's agile and moves well laterally for a big guy.

Baumgart shared Clarinda varsity quarterbacking duties with a senior during the 2025 campaign. The sophomore shined in completing 68 percent of his throws for 535 yards and seven touchdowns without an interception. The performance should put him in sound position to win the starting job in the fall. We can also see the potential for him to do so when watching clips on his Hudl page. Baumgart stands tall in the pocket and pushes the ball down the field with ease. His throwing motion is fluid, and he can spin it. Baumgart is smooth in his drop and with his footwork. He's slick at selling fakes and diagnosing the defense on zone reads. Baumgart is a breakout candidate for the fall, that's for sure.
