2029 Offensive Line Newcomers: Winter

We recently released our <a href="https://prepredzone.com/north-carolina/rankings/2029-north-carolina-high-school-football-rankings/">updated 2029 rankings</a>, and now it's time to break down the class. We'll intersperse pieces breaking down the newcomers and stock-risers with big-picture pieces analyzing the freshman class as a whole. Here, we're evaluating every offensive lineman who entered the rankings. Daniels has started to gain some traction on the recruiting trail and has all the looks of a nationally-ranked recruit. He played this season a bit lighter than he'll likely be in the future, but still showed remarkable strength and impressive quickness for Millbrook.     Phipps doesn't physically look like a freshman, and when the helmets go on, it's hard to tell he's so young. He has plenty of power and a strong leg drive that both pop on film. Reagan ran the ball a ton in 2025, trusting its offensive line to set the tone and win on the margins. Phipps looks like a guy who could become a top-ranked recruit on the offensive line.     We've seen Hunt in several camp settings, and we love his upside, given that he's such a strong technician. He always stays balanced, and his play strength is excellent. As he gets bigger, he'll only become better as he gains some weight. He plays a lot of right tackle, but has the versatility to play inside as well.     File away Miller's name as both a potential breakout candidate and even as a potentially elite recruit. He's raw right now, but his natural abilities are off the charts. A true 6'6", Miller isn't finished growing, and he already has plenty of raw power and rare get-off. He's developing his technique, but can win a lot off of pure athletic ability right now. When it all comes together, he could challenge as one of the top offensive linemen in the class.     Delk is a long, lean athlete on the offensive line, and he's aggressive. That led to him getting over his toes on occasion, but also means that no matter how his body develops over the next few years, he'll have an impact. He's quick and powerful, so if he stays more on the lean side, he could have a future as an edge rusher. But he more than held his own on offense last season, and we're excited about his potential.     Brawner played well at the 8A level in limited reps despite being severely undersized as a freshman. He's already added about 20 pounds in the offseason, and based on his frame, I expect him to be in the 280-range in the next couple of seasons. His snaps at center were excellent, and he has a strong base, which is why he never looked outmuscled at the varsity level last year.     There's something in the waters at Southeast Raleigh, as the Bulldogs keep churning out talented young offensive linemen. Holder earned a couple of varsity starts as a freshman, even in a crowded offensive line room. He's a talented guard prospect with good leg drive, and he's always looking for work, especially as a run blocker.     There's not a ton to evaluate yet, as most of McIlwain's freshman year varsity experience was on the defensive line, but he's a massive individual who can easily displace defenders. He moves well for his size and we think he could end up as a top interior offensive lineman.     Miller impressed in limited reps as a freshman, and I really like his ability to fire off the line and attach to defenders. He has a good kick step as a tackle, which makes me wonder if he could stay there, even if he doesn't grow any taller. It's early in the process, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him move up the list over the next few years.
