This was a tough decision, but the year that senior QB [player_tooltip player_id='948097' first='Patrick' last='Greisen'] put together couldn't be denied. No matter how you cut it Patrick deserves this title. His 49 TDs helped him set the career TD passing record with 102, despite only being the full time starter for two seasons. The 49 TDs also secured him his second straight year of leading the state in TDs. It's not just the dominance, but the consistence of that dominance. Week in and week out we saw Patrick lead his team onto the field on Friday nights, pick apart that foe, and bring home the victory. He capped his career with a D2 State Championship Game record of 304 passing yards, in a game where he brought home the victory over a very talented team that included our runner-up for this title, [player_tooltip player_id='1620318' first='Kingston' last='Allen']. A win that secured him and West De Pere an undefeated season to go along with that championship.

It wasn't just the big picture numbers or that State Championship trophy that earned Patrick this award either. It was the weekly success. That ability to deliver when every team and defense knew what the focus was going to be. As you can see, Patrick was responsible for 62% of his team's offensive production and his 27+ pass attempts/week left no doubt that the WDP offense was going to the air early and often. It was his clutch gene that helped lead his team on playoff and regular season game-winning drives. It was his ability to impose his will, and the offense's as a whole, on the defense. Looking at the season, West De Pere had 1 regular season game that ended as a one possession score. That was a game where Patrick and the Phantoms had to put up 20 4th Qtr points vs Bay Port (the D1 State Runner- Ups). Patrick ended that game going 30/44, 478 Yards, and 7 TDs. The Phantoms also had 1 playoff game end within 1 possession. That was the semifinals when Patrick led a game winning drive to secure that State Championship berth. In that showdown Patrick delivered 18/27, 235 Yards, and 3 TDs. Then in that final game the senior QB led his team to victory with a 16/26, 304 Yards, and 2 TDs stat line. One last example of Patrick's elite consistency is that the senior QB threw at least 2 TDs in every single game this season, 3 TDs or more in 9/14 games, and 4 or more TDs in 7/14 games. He also completed 60+% of his passes in 11/14 games this season.

The senior QB couldn't be stopped this season and left no doubt that he has legitimate D1 talent. QB1 here in WI will be taking his talents to the D1 level and is committed to play for South Dakota next fall. I'm very excited to watch his hard work carry over to the collegiate level where he will battle to compete in the extremely talented Missouri Valley Conference. Congratulations on an unforgettable high school career, Patrick! Good luck at the next level! Go Yotes!
