Here we are! The release of the Class of 2027 Rankings Update! Our goal here at Prep Redzone WI, and Prep Redzone overall, is to shine the spotlight on as many student athletes as possible. Doesn't matter if you are a nationally ranked, Power 4 talent or a future D3 commit. You all deserve the spotlight because we know the work that goes into transforming yourself into a college athlete, and we see you all putting that work in. Because of that goal I take it upon myself to always try my best to maximize my updates and include as many athletes as I can find with the talent for the next level. I collect it through my own discovery online or at camps and live games, athletes reaching out, parents reaching out, and high school coaches sending their lists of recruits interested in the next level. I want to take a second to say thank you to all who did send me their film and other info. It is always a huge help for me.
As I was saying, my goal is to always maximize the number of student athletes in these rankings to help them see where they stack up and include their names in our ever growing Player Database that college coaches love to utilize. This time around we were able to do something we have never done with a rankings. The 480 total athletes ranked is the most ever done here in WI at this point in a Class's journey through high school. That number is usually saved for senior class updates when all is said and done with. This Class is different. I have been able to find so many athletes that deserve to be included that it was hard to find a stopping point. But I finally did, and the rankings are set! Let's look at some quick hitting facts about the loaded group:
- Increased from 312 up to 480 ranked athletes
- Talented and deep OL group with 14 in the Top 25, and 23 in the Top 50
- Six different positions represented in the Top 10
- 20 of the Top 100 student athletes are new additions or bumped up from the Watch List
- Currently at 3 commits, 2 to the Wisconsin Badgers and 1 to Notre Dame
As you dig into the rankings and all the written coverage coming out related to it keep in mind that this is a big list. You are seeing how you stack up against hundreds just within your state. Take that info and keep working. We are in the most important offseason of your career. Now is the time to both participate in other sports, and also be preparing your bodies for the next season, which will in turn make you better for spring and summer camps. These next eight months are a big time in your life, so enjoy it. Have fun and compete your tails off.
