With the soon-to-be senior gunslinger back under center for the Golden Hawks in 2026, they'll have an excellent chance to make it to the UNI-Dome after coming up just short this fall.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As a junior, Weber completed 136-of-217 passes (62.7%) for 1,973 yards, 30 touchdowns and nine picks. If he can bring down the turnover numbers during his senior campaign, Weber could reach another echelon of production and become a fringe Division I prospect. Though he loses his top two passing targets, he'll return three through five on that list, as Carson Humphrey, Nolan Jergens and [player_tooltip player_id='2102613' first='Kendrick' last='Kos'] each return next season. Humphrey finished the year with 20 receptions for 443 yards and eight touchdowns, making him a leading candidate to be Weber's top option in 2026. Meanwhile, Jergens and Kos paired for 32 receptions for 410 yards and nine touchdown receptions. Jergens caught seven touchdown passes. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Golden Hawks also lose their leading rusher from last season, but return [player_tooltip player_id='2102565' first='Ryan' last='Henry'] who takes 41 carries for 277 yards and four touchdowns into his junior campaign. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Defense:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Defensively, Mid-Prairie returns a bevy of riches, too. The second-through-fifth-leading tacklers are all back in 2026, with Caedyn Huston leading the group with 44.5 tackles during his junior year, adding four tackles-for-loss (TFLs). There's a crew of tacklers behind him that will swarm to the ball in 2026, as well, as Henry, Kos, Cecil Kelley and Tommy Miller each put together between 31.5 and 38 tackles last season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On the backend, Humphrey swatted away three pass-breakups (PBUs) and grabbed four interceptions, including a pick-six. Kos grabbed three picks of his own and added five PBUs, and Henry led the squad in forced fumbles with three. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Though they didn't reach the UNI-Dome in 2025, the Golden Hawks will be one of the top teams to keep an eye on in 2026. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
