Four 2027s in Ohio Hungry for a Shot

Today, we take a look at four Ohio prospects who are flying under recruiting radars, but may get noticed in the near future during the NCAA evaluation period currently underway. College coaches who are visiting schools and pounding the pavement throughout the next couple of weeks should take a peek at these four targets.    Jaxon Mackey is a starting two-way prospect for Fremont Ross. Mackey displays being a good blocker as a tight end. He runs his feet on contact, drives defenders off the ball effectively and flashes being a solid pass catcher. As a linebacker, he can drop in coverage, make plays on the ball and flashes being a solid pass rusher. Tall-framed edge prospect likely at the next level.     Kevin Jones flashes very good ball skills. As a starting cornerback, he is feisty in coverage, displays great use-of-hands and is very physical with receivers. Jones can jam at the line of scrimmage, press , carry and cover deep routes. I would expect his recruiting to really take off when college coaches get an in-person look at what he brings to the table.     Jeremiah Rowdy is a stout run defender. The starting linebacker for Harvey High School flashes quickness and twitch, has great instincts and a nose for the ball. Rowdy is also a solid tight end who can release into the flat, catch and be a legitimate threat around the goal line. Under-the-radar junior who should shine at college camps.     Mason Englund is a starting wide receiver for Fremont Ross. England is big and tall, with surprising ability to make defenders miss after the catch. Englund wins one-on-one catches, his long arms provide a nice catch radius, and he is also a proven run blocker on the perimeter. Englund is also an outside linebacker on defense.
