As the calendar moved to January 2026, a new year started for football prospects in the state of Florida.

The recruiting cycle that continues year-round starts off with a look at some of the quality talent that we will all watch this coming season.

With so many events that are showcasing talent, the opportunity for exposure has never been greater – and that's why we continue to bring you prospect profiles 365 days a year.

With colleges and universities needing firsthand information about players, what we bring to our loyal readers every day is something that has become essential.

No cut to our rivals, who claim to be a source, but we are at everything – every month of the year, promoting and giving our students the advantage of being in the spotlight at games, practices, camps, combines, 7-on-7 events and even in other sports they participate in and in the classroom to give college coaches an opportunity to see what they bring to the table as total student/athletes.

Today, we once again give you a look at some of prospects to continue to keep an eye on:

2027 – [player_tooltip player_id='1684014' first='Carter' last='Black'], OL, 6'3, 295, Melbourne – 3.6 GPA. One of the prospects that we put in the spotlight a year ago and tracked his progress this past season. A talented lineman who has worked extremely hard to become an all-around line prospect – run blocking and pass protection. A very athletic young man who has solid footwork along with improving strength. Has an opportunity this off-season to watch his stock rise. While there are schools looking at him, he will see additional coaches watching his progress during camps and combines. This a very talented player who has everything you are looking for in a line prospect.

2027 – Miguel “Scoop” Clarke Jr., LB, 6'0, 185, Fort Myers Riverdale – 3.2 GPA. In a year that this program advanced to the Final 4 among 5A schools, he had a tremendous season with 98 total tackles (57 solo), 22 tackles for loss and six sacks for a defense that was one of the best in southwest Florida. Will be looked upon in 2026 for his experience, leadership and knowledge.

2027 – Ethan Crandall, RB, 5'10, 195, Pensacola Catholic – 4.28 GPA. Heads into the off-season after a stellar junior year where he ran for 1,304 yards on 151 carries (8.6 yards per carry) and 18 touchdowns leading the Crusaders into the state playoffs this past season. Will certainly be one of the top running backs to keep an eye on in the class.

2027 – [player_tooltip player_id='895723' first='Chase' last='Goodrich'], DL, 6'1, 285, Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas – Wrestling. Was a huge part of the Raiders' seventh consecutive state title – as he was a force up front with 50 total tackles (21 solo), 15 tackles for loss and five sacks. Following in the footsteps of his older brother who is headed to the Naval Academy.
