‘29s on the Road to Being Ranked

The 2029 class rankings have been posted, and the watchlist is long! But there are a number of athletes on the list that are well on their way to being ranked. With some more offseason prep and standout camp performances, they could see a bump by the fall! Below are just a few of the many players that are on their way up the rankings.    I love the potential here for Lucas. First of all, he has solid measurables, and some solid speed. He's lanky with a big wingspan, great for going up to high point the ball. In limited film I could find, it looked like his get-off speed is good, and his release is on the smooth side. All in all, I think some time in the weight room and some more work on the skillset could set him apart. Interesting potential here!     Harrison is another one with the measurables that get me excited. On film, I love his motor as an interior defensive lineman. The first thing I noted is that if he gets his hands on you, it's over. There are no arm tackles or weak attempts. He has plenty of examples of him beating the offensive lineman off the snap, and shooting the gap before they can get ahold of him. He gets his hands up instinctually when the QB throws, just adding another layer of difficulty. I think he is a productive offseason away from absolutely booming. Absolutely one to keep an eye on!     Gavin's highlights are a mixed bag of throws. He has some short and intermediate throws where he reads the defense and places the ball nicely. He has a few deep balls where he sees something pre-snap or immediately post-snap and hits his man for a chunk play. He seems to consistently make the right decisions time and time again. He has decent footwork, especially when he has time. If he continues this trajectory, I see no reason why he won't climb his way up the rankings very soon.     Aiden showed up and showed out last month when we held our Stock Up Showcase. Great bend, great technique and a great frame. He is on a great trajectory, and is in a program that has a proven track record of success developing offensive linemen. His and placement, his ability to anchor and his ability to be light on his feet make him an extremely dangerous guy to line up against. I will be keeping an eye on him as he is on pace to be one of the top linemen in this class.     Peyton's highlights were really entertaining. They ran a number of tosses to him out of the backfield, and he had the ability to turn it up field and hit his top speed in the open space. Really solid vision and possesses the ability to make guys miss. Not only is he a weapon in space, but he has a multitude of highlights between the tackles. He is patient and finds the right gap, and hits it without hesitation. He does a great job of getting behind his pads and continuing to keep his feet moving. Ovid-Elsie has had a number of kids I have really liked, and he is looking like one of the next great athletes for the Marauders!
