<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>When it comes to football recruits and college prospects, there are few states – of any – that can compare with Florida.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>From the talented Panhandle through north, central, west, southwest and south, it is tough to match the skill and compassion of high school football in the Sunshine State.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Today, we spotlight some more players who stepped up their game this season:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>2027 – [player_tooltip player_id='1895080' first='Khayse' last='Barrett'], QB/Athlete, 6'0, 215, Clearwater Central Catholic – 3.5 GPA. </strong>Even though his season fell short with a region finals loss, this impressive standout served notice that he will be someone to watch in 2026 – with 2,542 Total Yards (112/150, 1938 Passing Yards), 20 touchdown passes (.747 Completion %, 144.9 QB Rate). His 41 receptions for 984 yards and 12 touchdowns helped to lead the way on offense.
