What prospects have the most helium heading into the offseason? These offensive prospects are some of the top players that are primed to make major moves in the next 2027 Rankings Update and are receiving a lot of buzz on the recruiting trail!

RB [player_tooltip player_id='1604137' first='Ahmad' last='Coleman'] (East St. Louis)

Current Ranking: NR

Coleman emerged as the #2 back for the Flyers this year and a legit group of 5 target. He has a slashing style of running going east and west then hits it up north/south with explosion for big plays. Speed and quickness through the hole making quick cuts showcasing good vision and instincts.

RB [player_tooltip player_id='1619312' first='Brandon' last='Johnson'] Jr. (St. Rita)

Current Ranking: #71

Johnson was a major reason St. Rita made a run deep into December. At 5'10” 195 pounds he has a strong and stocky frame and runs with power. Quick cuts and vision running in between the tackles hitting the hole and exploding. Can bounce it outside with his speed when needed. Like how he finishes off runs with strength moving the defender forward.

TE [player_tooltip player_id='1518233' first='Austin' last='Coles'] (Barrington)

Current Ranking: #40

Coles is an emerging tight end in the 2027 class with his size and athleticism. The Barrington junior reeled in 53 catches for 851 yards and 7 touchdowns this past season. Coles uses leverage well on inside pass routes on slants and deep posts. Long strides allow him to cover a ton of ground in a short amount of time. Crisp route runner getting in and out of his cuts. More of a jumbo wide receiver who will be a pass catching threat first and foremost at the position. Has the frame to add strength and grow into a big time tight end. Snatches the ball out of the air and adjusts well to the ball down the field. Can be both a chain mover and vertical threat. For sure P4 TE at the next level.

TE Charlie Fowler (Loyola)

Current Ranking: NR

Fowler has excellent physical tools at 6'6” 215 pounds. Splits the defense down the middle of the field either lining up in-line or in the slot. Snatches the ball out of the air on shorter routes moving the chains. Brings physicality as a blocker in the run game opening holes for his backs.

TE [player_tooltip player_id='1748003' first='Brady' last='Johnson'] (Glenbard West)

Current Ranking: NR

Johnson is a 6'3" 220 pound tight end that has a ton of intriguing physical tools. More of an in line player that can block and catch passes. Good blocker that latches on and has good form pancaking several guys on tape. Blocks well in both the run game as well as for his fellow pass catchers downfield. As a pass catcher he can get vertical in the seam and make catches over the middle. Does a nice job of blocking for a second then releasing making catches. Solid route runner that snatches the ball out of the air. Has the chance to be a complete tight end.

OL Chase Clark (Mt. Carmel)

Current Ranking: NR

While a ton of stars on the Caravan caught the attention of fans this year we came away really intrigued with the upside of Clark at right tackle. The 6'4” 260 pound offensive tackle is light on his feet and has a frame he can continue to add strength. Plus athlete with his mobility. So good in pass protection with his ability to anchor, quick set, and use his long arms to keep rushers out of his body. Going to translate to left tackle next year with ease. Mirrors well and can put them on the ground when they get off balance. In the run game he is physical being able to seal off his side or drive the edge player off the ball. Has all the tools you look for!

OL Tyler Engstler (Downers Grove North)

Current Ranking: NR

The positional versatility is there with Engstler as he played right tackle, right guard, and center. Physical tools he checks the box at 6'5” and 245 pounds. Really good pulling lineman that has sound technique. Anchors well in pass pro. Upside!

OL Soren Fifer (Morton)

Current Ranking: NR

Fifer created buzz this season as a 6'6” 295 pound offensive tackle from central Illinois. The left tackle is a bully on the block with his ability to drive defensive lineman off the ball and put them on the ground. Plays with a mean streak. Light on his feet, has a strong base, and fights with his hands in pass protection.

OL Corey Laga (Lemont)

Current Ranking: NR

Laga is a 6'5" offensive lineman that is gaining steam. Really like the athleticism that he brings to the table. Can get out and block in space. Drives with his legs and has strong hands getting defenders on the ground. Laga definitely has a mean streak to him and brings the physicality while maintaining good technique. Understands angles well and how to set up his opponent. Anchors well in pass protection with his strength and base. Plays offensive tackle, but could see potential kicking inside as a pulling guard.

ATH [player_tooltip player_id='1791871' first='Jackson' last='Cook'] (Harlem)

Current Ranking: #64

Cook is a 6'2" 160 pound athlete that on the offensive side this past season had 28 catches for 655 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns. Defensively he racked up 17 tackles and 2 interceptions. Cook has breakaway speed which he brings in the return game as well. Blows past coverage units and breaks away from them. As a defensive back he jumped in front of a pass in the endzone running it back for a pick 6. Explosive athlete that as a receiver can win on vertical routes high pointing the ball in the air then housing it. Adjusts well to the ball downfield in the air. Shifty with the rock in his hands making a quick move then accelerating upfield. The quickness is very evident as a game changing skill in his game. Electric playmaker with the ball in his hands whether it is as a receiver, defensive back, or return man.
