Earning varsity playing time as a freshman will instantly put you on radars, and that is what John did this season. The freshman FB ended the season starting the final four games of the season and didn't let his opportunities go to waste. The 5'11" 210 lbs athlete is building a powerful frame. That power made him a big impact in the run game as a lead blocker. There are so many clips of his clearing out holes and kicking out edge defenders for his RB. John plays with patience and a great understanding of leverage and positioning. Most importantly, John doesn't lose his man once engaged. He drives his lower body until the whistle blows and is able to create a big positive push. This type of size, power, and physicality as a freshman is well worth getting on your radars. Tap into the highlights.

We are up to our 3rd Fletcher brother with Bennett. While the previous played at Racine Horlick, Bennett suits up for Union Grove. The freshman LB was a key piece to the varsity defense on a team that went on a deep playoff run in 2025. He would finish with 23 tackles, 3 TFLs, and 3 sacks on the year. Bennett is following in his brothers' footsteps when it comes to being a weight room warrior. That size and strength gave him the ability to play on Friday nights early in his career. That physicality and strength makes Bennett an impact run defender. He can shed blocks, make stout tackles, and closes with violence on the ball carrier. I'm very excited for Bennett's career to continue to unfold. You can trust this will be a name to watch.

Another freshman varsity contributor was DE Daniel Kuchta of Coleman. The freshman DE is starting to build a frame for the position. A frame with solid length and strength that still has so much potential to develop further over the years. As a freshman Daniel contributed 35 tackles, and 9 TFLs. Despite being a freshman, Daniel is quickly developing his technique. He gets hands on, maintains separation, and has the upper body strength to quickly get rid of OL and give himself a path to close on the ball. You have to love the extra effort and high motor plays he makes throughout his highlights too. Daniel could be a kid that really explodes onto the scene as he continues to grow. Be one of the first on this northern WI gem.

While Theron is very undersized for Friday nights he didn't let that slow him down from making an impact on offense and defense. Theron compiled 31 tackles, 2 TFLs, and 87 rushing yards on 25 carries. The 2029 ATH was fearless on the field. As soon as he saw the football in front of him at DB he burst downhill and made sound open field tackles. He easily navigates through traffic to make those tackles with his agility. Agility that also showed up in his play on offense. The 2029 is only going to continue to grow and continue to increase the impact on his varsity team. I'll be watching to see how he develops.

Indian Trail freshman QB Jordan Hammond is a fun watch. He is a kid that is quick and nimble on his feet, allowing him to set and reset quickly as well as move within the pocket to avoid pressure. He thrives in the short to intermediate passing game with his accuracy. Jordan was quick his decisions and placed the ball in great locations for his WR to make a play without putting the ball at risk. The freshman also has some athleticism outside the pocket that defenses will have to contend with.

Madison West will be looking for a new QB1 on varsity next fall, and I expect to see 2029 Evan Fuhrken to push hard for the spot. The freshman was able to make a name for himself with some elite carries on the ground, highlighting his dual threat abilities. He finished with 6 carries for an insane 112 yards and 2 TDs on varsity. Evan brings legitimate, game-breaking speed to the QB position and a frame for the position. His size and speed will give defenses fits trying to contain him on read options or scrambles. It was great to see the freshman find ways to get on the field outside of backup QB including gunner on punt team. Evan is definitely worth getting an early look at. His athleticism and size give him a lot of position versatility at the next level. Tap into his highlights.
