Under-the-Radar Rushers: Southwest Florida’s 2027 RB Class

Florida has long been a hotbed of high school football talent. Annually, Florida produces some of the nation's top prospects. Florida athletes are known for their speed, agility, and raw athleticism. These prospects have made names for themselves and have caught the attention of coaches and scouts at the collegiate level. With the 2025 season over, we're looking for players whose stock is rising in the state.   These players are all talented and have college-level abilities. Some of these players have a few offers, but all of them have the ability to play college football at some level.   There are some big-time, highly rated prospects and several sleeper prospects who should all be getting looks for the next level. This list is full of stud prospects. He shows good vision pressing the line of scrimmage and has the burst to slip through creases before defenders can react. His compact build allows him to maintain balance through contact.   Analysis: Volvic projects as a high-efficiency back who thrives on chunk plays rather than volume. His quickness and downhill mentality make him effective in zone concepts. Expanding his involvement in the passing game and adding functional strength would further enhance his role.   Nathan Watters – Estero High (c/o 2027) Height/Weight: 5'11”, 190 lbs Season Stats: 103 carries for 566 yards and 12 TDs; 11 receptions for 156 yards and 2 TD   Scouting Report: Watters is a strong, instinctive runner with a natural feel for the end zone. He runs with good pad level and finishes plays with authority, particularly in short-yardage situations. His hands out of the backfield add value and keep defenses honest. Continued improvement in burst through the hole could unlock more explosive plays.   Caleb Cobb – Cape Coral High (c/o 2027) Height/Weight: 5'6”, 165 lbs Season Stats: 71 carries for 686 yards and 7 TDs; 12 receptions for 131 yards and 2 TD   Scouting Report: Cobb is a dynamic, elusive playmaker with exceptional quickness and change-of-direction ability.
