I have spent most of my time this month featuring athletes for their defensive accolades, but today I am going to stuff my Prep Redzone Kansas with some offensive lethal weapons.

This will be my final report on Prep Redzone Kansas until a special holiday-themed report that you won't want to miss on December 23.

Here is a quick look at 10 Northeast Kansas prospects who shone like a Christmas Tree Tinsel during their junior prep seasons.

[player_tooltip player_id='1970828' first='John' last='Hornback'], QB, 6'0”, 168, St. James Academy, ‘27

Hornback threw for 2,099 yards and 22 touchdowns in 12 games for the Thunder. He also rushed for 727 yards and eight touchdowns. His legs get him out of trouble, but the Thunder coaching staff can also call his number. He sees the field well and has solid footwork.

[player_tooltip player_id='2063081' first='Cale' last='Ketter'], QB, 6'2”, 175, Seaman, ‘27

Seaman grinded out a tough season beset by injuries while turning over the offensive reins to Ketter. He threw for 2,013 yards and 23 touchdowns. He is a traditional pocket quarterback who carried the ball only 12 times in eight games. Ketter is ranked No. 42 overall by Prep Redzone Kansas. He has a quick release and can throw a deep ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='1700711' first='Dan' last='Sogard'], QB, 6'2”, 175, Blue Valley, '27

Sogard is the “Who” quarterback, as he has the size to see for miles and miles behind center. He is a tall quarterback who threw for 1,983 yards and 22 touchdowns in nine games. Sogard is ranked No. 33 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027. He was one of the top climbers during the most recent rankings update by Prep Redzone Kansas.

[player_tooltip player_id='2065113' first='Max' last='Piva'], RB, 6'1”, 210, Mill Valley, ‘27

Piva rushed for 1,812 yards in 11 games for the Jaguars. He found the end zone 17 times on the ground for Mill Valley. He also made 12 receptions for 132 yards and four touchdowns. Piva is ranked No. 27 overall by Prep Redzone. He has nice hands, runs patiently, and makes the quick-hit long run.

[player_tooltip player_id='1613502' first='Roman' last='Byers'], RB, 6'2”, 195, Piper, ‘27

Piper's Byers is a weapon on offense and a wrecking ball on defense. He rushed for 1,197 yards and 21 touchdowns in 10 games for the Pirates. He also caught 16 balls for 237 yards and two touchdowns. He recorded 49 tackles, one interception, and one fumble recovery. Byers is ranked No. 19 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027. He was one of the most entertaining athletes I saw play last fall. In a bit of a teaser, but not a spoiler, Byers will be featured in my final holiday-themed report of 2025.

[player_tooltip player_id='1585770' first='Armond' last='Graves'], RB, 6'0”, 198, Wellsville, ‘27

Graves strung together back-to-back seasons with 1,000-plus rushing yards. He carried the ball 146 times for 1,072 yards in eight games. As a sophomore, he rushed for 1,240 yards on 153 carries. With a total of 299 carries in two seasons, he has proved to be a workhorse back. He has a total of 41 rushing touchdowns for the Eagles in two seasons. Graves is ranked No. 212 by Prep Redzone Kansas.

[player_tooltip player_id='1125716' first='CamRon' last='Fields'], ATH, 5'11”, 167, Washington, ‘27

Fields is a versatile athlete who creates match-up problems for defenses. He finished among the state leaders with 63 receptions for 1,281 yards. He also carried the rock 69 times for 860 yards in nine games. He found the end zone a total of 23 times with the ball in his hands. He can be used in the backfield or lined up in the slot. He is ranked No. 45 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027.

[player_tooltip player_id='1326578' first='Brody' last='Schwinn'], WR, 6'3”, 165, Jefferson West, ‘27

Schwinn was a serious weapon in the Tigers' air attack. He caught 55 balls in 11 games for 1,005 yards and 18 touchdowns. Schwinn has the height to be a possession receiver, but the wheels to break one deep. Regardless of what route he runs, he has reliable hands. He is ranked No. 87 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027.

[player_tooltip player_id='933824' first='Coy' last='Barta'], WR, 6'2”, 165, Seaman, ‘27

Seaman had a couple of junior wideouts post solid numbers. Probably not a real surprise since their QB1 is at the top of this list. Barta made 38 receptions, gaining 642 yards, while catching 10 touchdowns. Barta is from an athletic family. He owns natural leadership skills and is not the typical ego-maniacal wideout we see so often in the 21st Century. He is ranked No. 89 overall by Prep Redzone Kansas.

[player_tooltip player_id='1275249' first='Josh' last='Brown'], WR, 6'0”, 170, Seaman, ‘27

Brown had two more catches than his Viking teammate. He caught 40 balls for 627 yards and found paydirt eight times for Seaman in nine games. Brown, along with Barta, formed one of the most dangerous receiver combos in the Sunflower State. They are the Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid of the Topeka prep football. He is ranked No. 91 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027.
