With snow prepared to roll into the Hudson Valley, Athletes from across the North East packed into Hudson Sports Complex to compete, and showcase their skills at the Prep Redzone NY Stock Up Showcase. This was our first edition of the Showcase, which had its own event, after pairing with NJ for multiple years. With 9 Linebackers in attendance in Warwick, we take a look at some notes I wrote down for each LB during the showcase. For combine numbers, I will use the best attempt from each drill.

While NY has had their Stock Up Showcase, many other states still have showcases. If you want to attend, use this code LemerWinterPRZ, for a few dollars off your registration.

Wood measured in at 5'6" 212-Pounds, displaying a solid build for a Linebacker. He has plenty of room to grow, being only a Freshman, and the St.Anthony's prospect, also displays some versatility with the ability to play on the offensive line if he were to grow and gain weight. Wood had a solid showcase in Warwick, and displayed flashes of potential. In his combine portion, he was a solid tester ranking in the middle of the pack. In 1v1 Drills, and Indy, he displayed good footwork, with the ability to move with a quick burst of speed. I did not see many coverage reps of him, which is a mistake on my part, but nothing egregious stood out from the lB side in those reps regardless. Wood has a bright future ahead of him, and can easily be a top playmaker in the CHSFL in a few years.

Welch was one of the older Linebacker in attendance in Warwick, and will be entering his Junior Season in the Fall. The 2028 Prospect, measured in at 5'9" 172-Pounds, displaying a thinner build for a LB. He can benefit from gaining weight and reaching the 190+ Pound mark to helpful out his build. Welch had a solid performance, but his footwork and balance caught my eye. There were a few reps where his footwork was exceptional, and others where he made some mistakes. Consistency is key as he moves through High School. In Indy, his balance while attacking RB's also requires some attention, as without it he can whiff on a lot of tackles or big hits. Overall Welch was solid in Warwick, and has a few things he can work on, but the future is bright for the Section Nine LB.

Magro was one of the older prospects in Warwick, and this upcoming season, will be a Senior. The Northport Prospect, measured in at 5'9" 197-Pounds, displaying an excellent build for a Linebacker. The 5'10" 210-Pound mark would be ideal, but it is not necessary for his build. Magro was one of the LB's I got the best look at in Warwick, as he had an impressive showcase. He played big, and displayed a high motor along with solid footwork, which helped him throughout drills. I did not see many coverage reps, but according to the Coaches watching, he had a successful day in the category. Magro find himself unranked which will change in the next update for the 2027 Class.

Parks is a player who wants to continue to improve in every rep. He attended our Stock Up Showcase in New Jersey, and also stopped in New York. Parks entered the event listed as a LB, which was a mistake, and wanted to compete as a TE due to his status as a dual threat player. Parks improved in his combine testing from NJ, in every category but broad jump showing he can continue to improve. Early on, there were some drop issues, with Parks, but as the showcase continued he improved with each rep. Parks is an extremely coachable and young playmaker. He measured in at 5'9" 185-Pounds, which is perfect for a LB, but as a TE should look go fill out his build. Parks is a player who will continue to improve if he puts in the work.
