Chattanooga, Tenn. -- Life is full of ups and downs, and this game was a reflection of that for both teams as there were a lot of twists and turns that led to the Baylor 28-24 defeat of Brentwood Academy.

It all came to the climax when sophomore tight end [player_tooltip player_id='1201841' first='Braxton' last='Rein'] became open on third and goal for a touchdown; that was immediately followed with the Red Raiders defense getting a fourth down stop to seal the close win.

In a game of inches, Baylor scored 14 points off turnovers and Brentwood Academy scored seven, an edge that ultimately gave the Red Raiders the edge in front of a hometown crowd. Even the game-winning touchdown for Baylor came following a missed field goal by Brentwood Academy.

Baylor relied on David Gabriel Georges early in the game to set the tone and that resulted in a touchdown reception by the tailback to begin the scoring. He had yet another standout game despite having to fight through potential tacklers as the Eagles defense came prepared, but eventually he just found ways to make big plays happen in the game, finishing with 31 touches for 213 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

It felt like the team went away from him late in the game and that allowed for a inspired Brentwood Academy comeback, going from down 21-10 to leading 24-21 entering the fourth quarter. That comeback was made possible by standout tailback [player_tooltip player_id='723428' first='Larry' last='Sanders II'] making a personal statement with his physicality and hard rushing style tonight with 29 carries for 215 yards and three scores.

While both teams had reliable rushing attacks in this game, the passing game proved to be hit-or-miss, with both quarterbacks that are typically the definition of efficient, throwing a pair of interceptions.

It was a rough night for Brentwood Academy signal caller [player_tooltip player_id='834810' first='Crews' last='Jenkins'], who was always on the run, completing just 6 of 17 passes for 40 yards on the night.

Baylor quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='222957' first='Briggs' last='Cherry'] had his pair of interceptions, but he stepped up just enough to win enough battles to win the war, including hitting Rein on the game winning touchdown pass.
