Tape Worthy of a Re-Study, PCL, PPL, and Dis.1 Prospect Re-Eval

His sophomore year production line and workload prove that. Currently ranked as a top ten back in his class, I'm inclined to elevate him further based on his most recent tape. Cannon was able to prove to potential collegiate suitors that he's worth the hype sent his way prior to his Fall season. Nearly eight minutes worth of tape readily available on Hudl. Early reps show off Cannon's ability to return kicks for scores, acceleration, patience, and home-run hitting ability all on display earlier on. Can take outside zone runs to the house, speed off the edge and a nose for the end zone make him a back who can break open a game in an instant. Comfortable working in tight sets, comfortable following and reading blocks set via pre-snap motion. Jet sweep capable player. A player who can be the focal point of an offense. Couple Cannon's acceleration skills with mis-direction sets, and you'll see DBs in the secondary having little time to take proper angles on Cannon, he's often loose downfield by the time a secondary knows what's happening in front of him. His ability to press correct holes makes him a consistent chain mover. Can catch the football, has optimal size for Division One discussions. Won't speculate as to why, but I am of course aware how talented the Imhotep backfield is and was this past Fall. I was able to see Word work up close against Harrisburg early this past Fall. Was on the receiving end of several swing passes in that game, he can prove to coaches that he's a viable threat out of the backfield. Again, this is a trait that's been in Word's repertoire for some time, so not new. Yes, there's a lack of substantial tape to truly re-evaluate Word currently. That being said, based on the single-game cut-ups on Hudl, I still see much of the same burst, the between-the-tackle toughness and pass-catching skills I've become accustomed to seeing throughout the years. Here's to hoping Word can put some more film out on socials from this year and for a steady workload next Fall as a senior at Imhotep. Up an inch and 20 pounds since we last saw him at camp. Shows off a great 4.58 GPA. Will be ranked among 2027 PA QBs moving forward, away from NJ prospects since his transfer from the Pennington School to Roman Catholic. A Division One grade provided by me early on. Picked up early offers via Sacramento State and Toledo. Played in six games, threw just 78 passes yet managed to impress. Passes the eye test, I might be a bit biased when talking about his potential and frame, as I've seen both his size and arm talent up close via in-game and in-camp settings. Can move well for his size, understands when to stay in the pocket and when to escape. Works well to his right, several reps on tape show how much power and torque Benzio has in his hips, especially visible when rolling out. Has a QB keeper that proves his mobility, too. Can drive the ball for collegiate-level throws if given the chance to step into a pocket. Again, Benzio shows off elite traits, it's always a been a matter of him putting the evidence out on Hudl. Happy to see he's done that. He'll be squarely in the mix for the best PA 2027 QB prospect now that he's at Roman. Range to push the ball downfield is there. Attention to detail from a footwork perspective is evident. Three-level thrower, brimming with confidence. So long as Benzio continues on the right developmental path both on and off the field, he's a Power Four capable QB in my eyes. Can be trusted to tackle at the LOS outside the hash marks. Legally presses WRs to the boundary well, he understands how to use space and the sideline to his advantage. Good effort player who can recorded several tackles, plays a bit tougher than his build suggests. Works best with space in front of him, off coverage with concepts unfolding in front of him has Jones looking most comfortable. Has a few PBUs registered on tape, too. Unsure how much Jones was targeted this past Fall, would love to see more pure coverage snaps on tape to really know how great of a cover guy he can be. Would love to learn of his speed ceiling and if he runs track.
