2028 Rankings Update 2.0: OL

As we head into the month of December, we have entered the next round of ranking updates in the state of Kentucky. The first class to be updated in this round is the class of 2028. With that being said, I will be taking the next week or so to break down these rankings by positions. After already covering the offensive skill players, here are our top offensive linemen in the class of 2028 in the state of Kentucky.    [player_tooltip player_id='1638832' first='Ryan' last='Walls'] continued to show that he is the top offensive lineman in the state in his class this season. Walls lines up at left tackle where he is very impressive in pass protection. He has shown the footwork to mirror opposing pass rushers with ease along with the ability to fight with his hands to defeat pass rush moves. Walls is also dominant as a run blocker, showing the physical punch to knock defenders off balance along with the ability to keep his legs running through contact to drive his man down the field. Ryan currently holds offers from Florida State, Marshall, Eastern Kentucky, UT-Martin, and Murray State, and I expect more to pile up for him over the next couple years.     [player_tooltip player_id='1701050' first='John' last='Carrico'] caught our attention as a freshman and has continued to impress this season. He lines up at right tackle where he is a very impressive run blocker. Carrico has shown the ability to drive his man down the field with ease and finish his blocks with a ton of physicality, resulting in frequent pancake blocks. He is also reliable in pass protection, showing the ability to get into his pass sets quickly to mirror opposing pass rushers while keeping a strong base, not allowing for much penetration into the pocket. Carrico currently holds offers from Kentucky, Louisville, Miami (OH), Illinois, Eastern Kentucky, Murray State, and Hillsdale, and I expect more to come his was as he is a true Power 4 caliber prospect.     [player_tooltip player_id='871294' first='Hudsen' last='Close'] is another offensive lineman who stood out as a freshman and continued to impress this season. Close lines up at left tackle where he is a mauler as a run blocker. He creates movement off the line of scrimmage with ease then uses his high motor to drive his man down the field with a sense of urgency. Close also does a great job in pass protection, showing the ability to keep a strong base and inside position with his hands while absorbing contact. Hudsen currently holds offers from Texas A&M, Louisville, Liberty, East Carolina, and Eastern Kentucky, and I expect more to come his way over the next couple years.     After a strong freshman year, [player_tooltip player_id='1268014' first='Christian' last='Bryant'] has picked up right where he left off this season. He lines up at left tackle where he is at his best as a run blocker. Bryant explodes out of his stance and does a great job of running his feet through contact to drive his man down the field with ease. He also does a great job of getting to the second level with a sense of urgency and picking up blocks in the open field. Christian currently holds offers from Kentucky, Sacramento State, Southern Mississippi, and Eastern Kentucky, and I can see more coming his way moving forward.     To wrap up our top five offensive linemen in the class of 2028 in the state of Kentucky, I have [player_tooltip player_id='1701070' first='Grant' last='Holman']. Holman lines up mainly at right tackle but has shown the ability to play on the left side as well. He is very impressive as a run blocker, showing the ability to drive his man down the field with ease and finish his blocks quickly. Holman has also shown the ability to pull from the tackle spot and pick up blocks in open space as a lead blocker. Grant currently holds an offer from Eastern Kentucky and I can see more coming his way as he continues to develop over the next couple years.
