Bird [player_tooltip player_id='1311466' first='Chris' last='Whitehead'] who bumped up from 4th overall in our last rankings. Whitehead is one of the most prized recruits in the country ranking in the top ten for overall rankings across the board. He was a first team all state selection this past season, racking up double digit sack numbers he is too fast off the edge for any tackle to block one on one. The rising senior has a pick of the litter in terms of colleges, his offers range close to the 50s. We bumped him up from 15th to 6th overall as he is too talented not to be in the top ten. I will never forget watching him live week 1 against a powerful Battlefield squad effortlessly take a punt return to the house. His speed and vision are on another level, it will be fun to watch him compete with the Strivers. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Speaking of Battlefield, in their opening season matchup against Sullivan's former team (North Stafford), the Bobcats were without star linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1535249' first='Noah' last='Glover']. Due to an injury Glover missed this classic but not much more the rest of the way as he had another all region type of year. [player_tooltip player_id='1664154' first='Dillan' last='Wickham'] (83) is one of the top running backs in Virginia while teammate [player_tooltip player_id='1735149' first='Brennan' last='Telfer'] averaged over 10 tackles per game. They were a part of a West Springfield team that made it all the way to the Class 6 State semi-final game. [player_tooltip player_id='1692399' first='Wesley' last='Flamer'] is a piercing linebacker who shows ranges to play that or safety at the next level. In my opinion he hasn't hit his ceiling yet and you will be seeing Flamer at the Power 4 level in two years. His speed and nose for the football are on display every snap, he was one of the best defenders in the commonwealth for 2025. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
