1A Championship: Limon vs Buena Vista

I will be in attendance evaluating prospects, and I hope to see you there !   CSU-Pueblo hosted the 1A Championship between the Limon Badgers and the Buena Vista Demons. Buena Vista had gotten up in the first quarter with 3 points. Limon scored and Buena Vista matched making it 10-7 at half. It wasn't until the 3rd where the Badgers got the lead with a touchdown. No team scored in the 4th. Resulting with the Limon Badgers winning the 1A championship! Congratulations to the Badgers on the big win ! Let's dive into the analysis.    Jaklich had a big day for himself with 23 carries for 105 yards and 1 touchdown. He has good athletic ability due to very good speed, change of direction, good acceleration, and balance. Jaklich used his very good vision to find the gap. Picks, slides, and accelerates into the open hole. Very good outside running. He turns the corner and is gone. Jaklich uses his good balance to keep his legs churning and gain extra yards after contact. Jaklich has shown to be durable and carry the rock. Great job by the senior to cap off a stellar season. !     Mellot is another great two-way player for Limon, playing both guard and defensive end. The 6'4 290-pound behemoth had 5 total tackles (2 solo, 3 assisted), 2.5 TFL, and 1 sack. Very good strength with good initial quickness out of his stance on both sides of the ball. As a guard, he has good hand placement and hand strength. He excels at pull blocking. Very good pass blocking with a good anchor too. On the defensive side, he has very good lateral quickness to move across the DL. Very good swim move and bull rush to knock the opponent around easily. Very good block shedding and get off speed. Very good tackling. Mellot demonstrates relentless pursuit and doesn't stop till the ballcarrier is in his hands. He ended his senior season with a bang.     Measuring in at 6'0 200-pounds, Tacha went 8 for 40 rushing, 4 receptions for 72 yards and 1 touchdown, with 9 total tackles (2 solo, 7 assisted), 1 TFL, and 1 punt for 38 yards. He has good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, change of direction, good balance, and speed. Explosive quick start exploding into the gap using his very good vision. Very good inside running. Mixture of a power and weaver back. Will make defenders miss with his dynamic jump cuts. Showed off his very good catching skills and good ball tracking. On the defensive side, he has good range and excels at being a downhill blocker. Very good blitz take off speed. Good zone coverage. Very good tackling with good block shedding. Great performance by the sophomore.     Measuring in at 6'1 200-pounds, Flowers had 13 total tackles (4 solo, 9 assisted), 2 TFL, 1 INT, and 4 punts for 191 yards, longest was 63 yards with it being inside the 20 twice. Flowers has very good athletic ability due to very good speed, acceleration, lateral quickness, and good jumping. This linebacker has very good range from sideline to sideline or his pass responsibility. Very good tackling. Good block shedding skills. Good hands to pluck the ball out of the air on the interception. As a punter, he shown very good leg power and control. His kicks have good hang time as well. Great job by the senior !     Measuring in at 6'1 230-pounds, Pridemore had 6 carries for 68 yards, and 14 total tackles (9 solo, 5 assisted) with 1 fumble recovery. Pridemore has good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, speed, good change of direction, and balance. Pridemore has good read and reaction speed to put himself in position to make a play. Very good sideline to sideline range. Good block shedding and very good tackling. He wraps up the ball carrier and pulls them down with ease, or hits them very hard. Good strength. Good pass coverage too. As a running back, he's shown very good vision to weave through the defense or create extra yards through contact. He has a bright future ahead of him.
