<p>Today, we stop back in the Pensacola area to check out some players who certainly stepped up their game this season on the defensive side of the ball.</p>

<p><strong>2026 – Andrion “Buck” Battle, DL, 6'3, 260, Pensacola Escambia – 3.2 GPA. </strong>His senior season was indeed productive with 73 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, 5 quarterback hurries and even had a blocked field goal for head coach <strong>Mike Bennett's</strong> Gators.</p>

<p><strong>2026 - [player_tooltip player_id='1581679' first='Josiah' last='Brown'], CB, 6'1, 180, Pensacola Booker T. Washington – 3.24 GPA. </strong>This University of Memphis commitment was huge this season for head coach <strong>Ryan Onka </strong>and the Wildcats. His 65 tackles, numerous tackles for loss, interception, 14 pass deflections, fumble recovery and overall leadership helped this team get into the state playoffs.</p>

<p><strong>2026 – Johnathan “John” Flynn, DL/LB, 5'9, 225, Cantonment Tate – 3.8 GPA. </strong>Pound-for-pound this could have been one of the most productive defensive players in the region. His 39 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 6 sacks, 14 quarterback hurries, 2 forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and leadership were huge for the Aggies and head coach <strong>Rhett Summerford</strong>.</p>

<p><strong>2026 - [player_tooltip player_id='1266690' first='Trenton' last='Henderson'], Edge, 6'5, 235, Pensacola Pine Forest.</strong> This LSU commit, who came from nearby Pensacola Catholic this season, was impressive all season long – with 35 tackles (8.5 TFL), 4.5 sacks, 4 QB hurries, several pass deflections, a blocked punt and even had a blocked field goal for head coach <strong>Kerry McDowell's</strong> Eagles.</p>

<p><strong>2026 - [player_tooltip player_id='1632474' first='Gavin' last='Lashley'], DB, 6'0, 185, Pensacola Catholic – 3.5 GPA. </strong>In leading this program back to the state playoffs as a high seed, this quality talent put together a solid regular season with 63 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, 3 interceptions, a forced fumble, fumble recovery and a pass break up for coach <strong>Bobby Clayton</strong> and the Crusaders.</p>
