I've been guilty of not giving enough attention to the smaller schools. Every year, the smaller schools produce a few gems, and the state championships usually do a great job of highlighting those guys. Though not every small school has a shot at getting that state-wide attention at Ford Field. Today, I'll list a handful of standout D7 prospects who will take the field this weekend in the Regional Finals.

[player_tooltip player_id='1157442' first='Jack' last='DeVries'] | QB | Schoolcraft

It's rare that we get such a good QB in Division 7. Insanely accurate, and I'm convinced Jack can throw his favorite routes with his eyes closed. He's got moments of standout accuracy and timing, and that's incredibly rare for any high school QB, let alone a QB from such a small school. Jack does have the occasional misread and turnover-worthy throw, and he's got to limit those in order to lead Schoolcraft to a state title. If you're looking for the best college-ready QB in D7, take a look at [player_tooltip player_id='1157442' first='Jack' last='DeVries'].

Garrett Woodard | QB | Millington

Leading the offense for Millington, Garrett Woodard has been a massive part of Millington's success. A good dual-threat QB with a WR background. Made the switch to QB this season, and has taken the change in stride. Usually a low-volume passer (normal in D7), but has been efficient when asked to throw it. Of course, to play QB for any HSFB team, you've got to be tough and willing to run it. Garrett is a very well-rounded senior QB who will be massive against Clinton.

Braxton Randolph | RB | Clinton

Not a ton of information or film regarding Braxton, but there are a few local news articles that paint Braxton as a great power RB. Usually, it doesn't seem Braxton earns a super high volume of carries per game, but he's efficient with the touches he earns. High TD-Touch ratio, a wrestler, and seemingly a very physical football player. Very interested in seeing an end-of-season highlight tape sometime in December.

[player_tooltip player_id='1595407' first='Ty' last='Thelen'] | QB | Pewamo-Westphalia

Ty has been a touchdown machine this season. So much of PW's offensive success has been because of Ty's extremely efficient play at QB. He's a far better passer than average on the D7 level. He can throw on time, with genuinely nice touch. I'm highly impressed by his tape against North Muskegon. Shoutout to his O-Line, too. I hope to see Ty at Ford Field in a few weeks!

Kahne Clarke | OT | Menominee

An underrated tackle anchoring the Menominee O-Line. I like how Kahne is able to stay square throughout his pass set. Generally, he's a brick wall in both the run and the pass game. Additionally, I really like the effort. Kahne has solid hand placement, great initial footwork, and plays to the whistle. His pad level isn't always the best, but he makes up for it with all of the positives I just listed. I like his limited tape so much that I think I'll add him to my Class of 2027 prospect spreadsheet.
