This senior ball carrier has started to come on over the last half of the season with his best performance of the year coming last week in the Saints win over MUS. McFadden is an athletic runner that finds the open field quickly and his speed was a problem for the Owls. The Saints senior went off for over 240 yards rushing along with four touchdowns and McFadden did this on only 16 carries. The way McFadden is running the ball right now could be a good sign for Briarcrest entering the playoffs because he is the type of talent that can go off and propel his team to victories.

Brown has been a steady, strong performer for his Rebels offense this year and he yet again produced another high level game in his team's 54-0 win over McEwen. The Rebels junior signal caller generated seven total touchdowns against the Warriors with four of them coming through the air and three more on the ground. Brown also had over 300 yards of total offense. Mr. Football is definitely a strong possibility for Brown as I expect him to be named a Semi-finalist later on this week.

The region title was on the line last week against East Nashville and this senior edge rusher showed up when it was needed as Groves produced a big night on both sides of the ball behind the Indians 33-22 win over the Eagles. This future Tennessee Volunteer was sensational on defense with nine total tackles, five of them for loss, one forced fumble and three sacks. Groves was a key contributor on offense as well with 51 yards rushing and three touchdowns. If Groves continues to perform like this, the Indians could march their way into Chattanooga and win the 2A championship.

Briarcrest Christian Saints (Key O-linemen: [player_tooltip player_id='480918' first='Blake' last='Adams'], [player_tooltip player_id='1651712' first='Artie' last='Anderson'], Hezekiah Clark)

- The Saints pushed their record to 7-3 overall after their 42-7 win over MUS and a big piece in that victory was the dominating play up front by their offensive line. The front five helped pave the way for over 500 yards of total offense with McFadden putting forth his best game of the season while keeping [player_tooltip player_id='492553' first='Hudson' last='Tucker'] clean throughout the contest. The performance versus the Owls might have been the O-line's best of the season and a good sign going into the playoffs. The Saints are a scary team that could be even better in November with stellar play in the O-line.

Positional Players of the Week

QB: [player_tooltip player_id='1142902' first='Cooper' last='Newman'] - Sevier Co. ‘27 (Stats: 21-25 passing for 331 yds & 4 TD's)

- The Smoky Bears dominated Mo-West last week, beating the Trojans, 40-7 with Newman being a major reason why. This junior quarterback had one of his more efficient games of the season as Newman only threw four incompletions on the night along with tossing for 331 yards and four touchdowns.

- Pushing his team's record to 8-2 overall to close out the regular season, Woods went off in his team's win over Jackson South-Side where the junior ball carrier rushed for 237 yards on 21 carries while scoring five times. Woods has started to come on over the last month and could be someone the Cavs could ride deep into the playoffs.

WR: Stanley Williams Jr. - Battle Creek (Stats: 13 rec. for 198 yds & 5 TD's)

- People better start getting to know this sophomore two-way talent as Williams presents a lot of traits that translate well to the next level. Last week in the Grizzlies win over Hickman Co., Williams was unstoppable as he produced 198 yards receiving on 13 receptions while scoring five touchdowns. I'm not sure which side of the ball fits him best yet but I love the upside with this Mid-Tennessee talent.

- Rogers produced his best game of the season last Friday as the Red Devils knocked off Clinton, 41-21 to improve their record to 5-4 overall. If the Red Devils needed something to happen in this game, Rogers provided it as he produced over 130 yards receiving and two touchdowns while having another score on the ground as well. He was also a ball hawk on defense as Rogers picked off the Dragons twice.

DL/Edge: [player_tooltip player_id='1154536' first='Iverson' last='Garcia'] - Powell (Stats: 19 tcks, 3 TFL & 2 sacks)

- Garcia has produced his best statistical season thus far with last week being one of his best performances of the year. The Panthers had a low scoring, defensive affair in their 15-3 win over Knox. West with Garcia being a major cog up front. This future USF defensive lineman generated 19 total tackles on the night along with three of them for loss and two sacks against the Rebels.

LB: [player_tooltip player_id='1581414' first='Joshua' last='Gale'] - Collierville (Stats: 10 tcks, 2 TFL, 1 FR, 1 PD, 1 Int & 1 blocked FG)

- The Dragons have one of the more underrated senior linebackers in the state with Gale and he proved that with his work last week in the team's win over Houston. The team's leading tackler and top run stuffer, Gale went off against the Mustangs with 10 total tackles, two for loss, one interception and one blocked field goal.

DB: [player_tooltip player_id='1245515' first='De'marcus' last='Huffine Jr'], - Powell (Stats: 4 tcks, 3 PD & 3 Int's)

- Huffine broke through with his best game of the year last week in the Panthers low scoring win over Knox. West as he produced three interceptions along with making four tackles against the Rebels. This junior defensive back has steadily gotten better as the season has gone on. Huffine is a talented young man that could push his game to another level with added weight in the off-season.
