Post-Season Spotlight: Tampa Bay 2026 WRs Colleges Need to See

Florida has long been a hotbed of high school football talent. Annually, Florida produces some of the nation's top prospects. Florida athletes are known for their speed, agility, and raw athleticism. These prospects have made names for themselves and have caught the attention of coaches and scouts at the collegiate level. With the 2025 season getting closer, we're looking for players whose stock is rising in the state.   These players are all talented and have college-level abilities. Some of these players have a few offers, but all of them have the ability to play college football at some level.   There are some big-time, highly rated prospects and several sleeper prospects who should all be getting looks for the next level. This list is full of stud prospects. William Matthews – Alonso High (c/o 2026) Height/Weight: 5'10”, 175 lbs Season Stats: 48 receptions for 717 yards and 5 TDs   Scouting Report: Matthews is a highly consistent possession receiver with clean route execution and reliable hands. He creates separation with sharp breaks and understands how to find soft spots in zone coverage. His body control along the boundary and smooth transitions out of his cuts allow him to work efficiently at all levels of the field.   Analysis: Matthews brings polish, IQ, and steadiness to an offense. Adding more explosiveness and top-end speed will help him generate more big-play opportunities, but his technical skill set and reliability make him an appealing projection for college programs looking for a dependable target.   [player_tooltip player_id='1827596' first='Jayce' last='Jones'] – North Florida Christian High (c/o 2026) Height/Weight: 6'0”, 160 lbs Season Stats: 48 receptions for 960 yards and 11 TDs   Scouting Report: Jones is a dynamic playmaker with vertical-threat ability and excellent burst off the line. He stretches defenses with his long speed and tracks the ball well downfield. His agility after the catch allows him to create explosive plays on screens, slants, and quick hitters.   Analysis: Jones projects as a high-upside receiver with the athleticism to impact a college offense early. Adding strength to his frame will enhance his physicality against press coverage, but his speed, ball skills, and big-play production already stand out.   Brendan Wright – St. Petersburg Catholic High (c/o 2026) Height/Weight: 6'0”, 180 lbs Season Stats: 53 receptions for 1032 yards and 15 TDs   Scouting Report: Wright is a highly productive, explosive receiver with excellent separation ability and strong ball skills. He wins both vertically and underneath, using crisp routes and sudden movements to shake defenders. His competitive nature shows up at the catch point, where he finishes plays through contact.   Analysis: Wright's combination of production, athleticism, and toughness makes him a clear collegiate-caliber prospect. Continued improvements in his release package and physical strength will elevate his all-around game, but his talent and big-play consistency are already well-established.   Yorel Stewart – St. Petersburg Catholic High (c/o 2026) Height/Weight: 5'6”, 150 lbs Season Stats: 38 receptions for 900 yards and 12 TDs   Scouting Report: Stewart is a compact, electric playmaker with exceptional speed and short-area quickness. His burst off the snap puts defenders on their heels, and his ability to create yards after the catch makes him dangerous on every touch. He thrives on deep shots, jet sweeps, and open-field opportunities.   Analysis: Stewart's speed and explosiveness give him true game-changing potential. Adding strength and refining his route tree will be key for handling college-level physicality, but his big-play ability and elusiveness make him one of the most dangerous perimeter weapons in his class.   Kwamaine Powell – Hollins High (c/o 2026) Height/Weight: 6'5”, 210 lbs Season Stats: 39 receptions for 942 yards and 7 TDs   Scouting Report: Powell is a rare size–speed mismatch with a towering frame and natural high-point ability. He uses his length to win contested catches and presents a major red-zone threat. His stride length helps him build speed downfield, and he shows encouraging fluidity for a receiver of his size.   Analysis: Powell's physical tools give him substantial upside as a collegiate outside receiver. Continued development in his route running and footwork will unlock even more consistency, but his height, ball skills, and matchup advantages already make him a high-ceiling prospect.
