**The Prep Redzone Stock Up Showcase Tour is coming to many cities, including Atlanta, Georgia. The Atlanta, Georgia event will be held on January 10th for all players in the 2026-2029. College coaches will be in attendance, colleges will receive results, you will receive media coverage, and a huge opportunity to make a name for yourself. Click here to register, and use code "SiskWinterPRZ" to get $10 off!**

The state of Georgia is entering a major week of competition, as many teams look to punch their ticket to the finals. There are multiple schools that have a shot at winning this whole thing, and they will look to prove what they are capable of this week. One of the more interesting divisions in the state is 2A, as they have great teams still in the running. Here are the quarter-final games, and some players in the game that could be a huge factor.

No. 1 Carver (Panthers) vs. No. 9 Sumter County

Sumter County isn't just a typical No. 9 team. They are a dangerous program as a whole. They defeated my sneaky pick to win the state, as they didn't just defeat North Murray, but they deflated them. They won by 17 points in that contest on the road. This is a team that could give the Panthers a run for their money. As for Carver, they were able to defeat Pierce County after Pierce County dominated Ringgold the week prior. This is a game that could be a make-or-break for the title holder as a whole, but it isn't as clear-cut as some people may genuinely believe.

A player who has a lot to offer in this game. He is one of the better players in the area when it comes to taking control of the game as a whole. He is someone who threw for a ton of yards and is one of the better gunslingers to do so. He also threw a minimum amount of interceptions, all things considered. If he is at his best, then he will have the chance to derail the Carver train.

One of the more effective running backs in 2A this season. He is well over 1,000 yards rushing at this point, and has played a major factor in why the Carver Panthers are favorites entering the game and even favorites at this point to be state champs. Stepp has a lot to offer, but if there are no counter punches or a defense can't contain him, then this game will likely be in favor of Carver. He is one of their MVPs this season, and he is for a reason.

No. 12 Hapeville Charter vs. No. 4 Morgan County

A game that I was happy that I predicted correctly was Hapeville's win over Appling County. That was a game that deserved all teh attention that came with it, as it was close, but in the end the 12th-seeded team walked away with the win. Hapeville is the underdog at this point of the pool remaining, and they will hope to keep their magic, but if that is the case, they must defeat a really good Morgan County program. Morgan County has a lot to offer, and that is because of their offensive efforts. This game will be one to note, and an interesting one at that.

One of my favorite players has been a late bloomer in this class. He is someone who can change any game with his ability to track a ball at the safety position. He has good coverage skills and can slot out to the corner back position if needed as well. Hapeville is at their best when he is on the field, and he is someone who could change the game with a big play like he did last week.

A wide receiver who can change the game in the blink of an eye. He is someone who can be a game changer with just one play, but that isn't enough for him. He is a big-play receiver who plays physical and has great size. He will be a weapon that Hapeville will have to try to limit, but I'm not entirely sure that they will be able to stop him fully.

No. 3 Carver (Tigers) vs. No. 6 Thomson

This is a game that many have on their board, especially after the win that Thomson had over Callaway. They will be tasked with beating a different Carver team, but this Carver team is another state title favorite. Carver will be entering this game with an undefeated record. Carver is definitely the favorite, but this is arguably their toughest test of the season.

Woodson is a great ball player, and he showed that. The Tigers finished the game with fewer than 10 passes and only five completions. Four of them went to Woodson. He is a force, and honestly, a headache for any opposing team to try and stop, especially with the rushing attack that they have. This de-railed the Stephens County team in a 56-point blowout, and a lot of thanks is to be given to Woodson.

Williams is one of the more overlooked players at the position, and that is because of his weight. He has been very efficient. He is a patient player as a whole, and that showed in his game last week. He finished with the only sack on the team, and he is someone who has quickly become a two-way star for this program.

No. 10 Burke County vs. No. 2 Rockmart

Rockmart is my personal pick to win the state title, and they have a good chance, but Burke County will take a shot at defeating Rockmart. This is going to be one of the more interesting matchups from top to bottom, which means that this could be arguably the most intriguing matchup as a whole. If you like an underdog story, make sure to watch, as Burke has a chance to take down a powerhouse in the division.

Rackins is one of the better defensive backs in the area, and he is someone who has a chance to improve in this game, and that is saying something. His performance last week was textbook, as he finished the game with four PDs. He is someone who can hawk the ball if needed, but his ability to close a gap has been shown this season. Rackins will be someone to watch in this game without a doubt.

Not much of a shock for Green to make this list, as he is a guy who has really hit a different type of stride as of recently. He is one of the top receivers in the state of Georgia stat-wise, and he is a top 100 receiver in the nation stat-wise. He is definitely someone to pay attention to, as he is a guy this offense will work through. Alongside a guy like Tucker Parson.
