As we approach the last couple weeks of November, the 2025 high school football regular season is behind us in the state of Kentucky and postseason action is in full swing. With that being said, I wanted to take a look back at the season and highlight some freshmen at each position who have made/are continuing to make an impact in their first season of high school football. To kick things off, here are some 2029 quarterbacks in the state of Kentucky who have made an impact this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1145692' first='Jayden' last='Guzman'] took over the Broncos' starting quarterback role in Week 3 and he has shown impressive growth throughout the season. In 11 games, Guzman has completed 85/151 passes for 980 yards, 12 touchdowns, and four interceptions. Jayden is an accurate passer, showing the ability to put the ball in a spot where only his intended receiver can catch it. He has also shown the ability to escape the pocket when needed while keeping his eyes down the field to make throws on the run. Guzman and the Broncos will be looking to keep their season alive this week in a second round playoff matchup against Bryan Station.

[player_tooltip player_id='1884262' first='Eli' last='Jarrell'] was very impressive in his debut season as Betsy Layne's starting quarterback. He completed 144/238 passes for 1,935, 19 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in 11 games. Jarrell has a very strong arm which he uses to stretch the field in the deep passing game. He also showed impressive accuracy this season, showing the ability to fit passes into tight windows where only his intended receiver could catch it. Eli's season unfortunately came to an end with an opening round playoff loss last week but he should be a quarterback to keep a close eye on as he continues to develop.

[player_tooltip player_id='1772150' first='Eli' last='Carey'] took over a few games in to this season as Knox Central's starting quarterback and he has impressed in the role. In nine games, Carey has completed 130/242 passes for 1,869 yards, 16 touchdowns, and only two interceptions. Carey has shown impressive accuracy, showing the ability to hit receivers quickly out of their breaks so that they can make catches in stride. He has also shown the arm strength to stretch the field in the deep passing game. Carey has also scored three rushing touchdowns this season. Eli and the Panthers will be looking to play spoiler on the road this week in a Round 2 matchup against a talented Bell County team.

My final 2029 quarterback in the state of Kentucky who has stood out to me this season is [player_tooltip player_id='1686505' first='Anthony' last='Davis']. Davis took over as the Purples' starting quarterback in Week 3 and has continued to improve week by week. In 10 games, Davis has completed 120/187 passes for 1,645 yards, 16 touchdowns, and two interceptions. Anthony has a very strong arm which he uses to lead his receivers down the field with ease in the deep passing game. He has also shown impressive ball placement this season, putting passes in a spot where only his intended receivers can catch them. Davis has also scored one rushing touchdown this season. Anthony will look to continue to lead the Purples on their quest for their third-straight state title in a second round matchup against Apollo this week.
