Class D: Tuckahoe Vs Haldane

The Weekend kicks off with Tuckahoe and Haldane, this afternoon at 4:30. The Tigers sit 7-1 on the season, and faced one loss to Class C Bronxville. They easily claimed the top seed in Class D, and set the date to face Haldane just under two weeks ago. QB Conor Brice, will be an electric player to watch on offense, while the defense, will look for big time plays from [player_tooltip player_id='1612387' first='Kilian' last='Curylo']. Moving to Haldane, they finished the season 6-2. The Blue Devils faced two loses this season, at the hands of Byram Hills, and Pelham. I like guys like Merrick Williams, and [player_tooltip player_id='1811594' first='David' last='Powlis'] for Haldane. Neither team has played each other yet, and I expect a good matchup to kick off Section Championships tonight.

Class A: Rye Vs Somers

A tale as old as time. In the final of two games today, we have Rye facing off with Somers for the Class A Championship. The Garnets are undefeated this season, and in Week Two, both teams faced off, with the Rye Squad taking home a close defensive 17-7 win. [player_tooltip player_id='1229592' first='Carson' last='Miller'], [player_tooltip player_id='1529592' first='Henry' last='Shoemaker'], Charlie Garnett, and [player_tooltip player_id='1992539' first='Sebastian' last='Lewis'], lead a veteran offense, that has scored under 30 points just once this season. Moving to Somers, the Tuskers started off 0-2, with a loss to Iona Prep in Albany, and Rye the following week. Junior QB Tristan Iglesias, has helped this squad find its identity on offense, and the defense has been unstoppable as of late. In rematch of the two top teams, I expect a close 4 quarter defensive battle.

Class C: Broxville Vs Dobbs Ferry

Bronxville, has had one of the top offenses in Section One this year, and they have rode it, to an 8-0 record on the year. They have scored over 40 points in 7/8 games this season, and their closest win came by 22 in the games one, and two this season. Brian Formato, and [player_tooltip player_id='1260105' first='Walker' last='Moore'], have led this offense, and Format has been a major breakout star, exploding on the ground in every game this season. Moving to Dobbs Ferry, the Eagles sit at 7-2, with two loses at the hands of Tuckahoe, and Westlake. Their offense has also been electric, as in all seven wins Jackson Kearns has led his offense to over 40 points. I see a shootout coming to start Saturday, the only question is, who comes out on top?

Class B: Sleepy Hollow Vs Westlake

Sleepy Hollow is on a Section One Cinderella run this season. In the Semi-Finals, the Horseman, too down the defending champions Ardsley, after an explosive day from star RB [player_tooltip player_id='402254' first='Brayden' last='Richardson']. Sleepy Hollow sits at 9-1 this season, with their lone loss coming at the hands of Bronxville early in the season. I look at guys like [player_tooltip player_id='402254' first='Brayden' last='Richardson'], who has picked up six offers this season, and [player_tooltip player_id='1804198' first='Gilbert' last='Onwe'] to lead this squad. Moving to the Westlake side, the Wildcats sit at 8-1, with their lone loss coming against Bronxville to open the season. Matt Pippo, and Nick Dinapoli, had massive games against Pearl River in the Semi-Final, and a similar performed against Sleepy Hollow should earn them a win.

Class AA: Mamaroneck Vs John Jay

Final game of Sectionals, sees Mamaroneck, and John Jay rematching for glory. These two teams faced off a few weeks ago, and the score showed 20-14, with John Jay coming out on top in OT. That is the Tigers lone loss on the season, and they certainly will look for revenge against the Patriots. Mark Lebowitz, had major games against New Rochelle, and North Rockland, and I expect him to be the main threat for John Jay. The Patriots sit undefeated on the season, and won the first matchup between the teams. The Patriots, have key wins against North Rockland, and a Yonkers Force squad who had upset thoughts in round one of the playoffs. This offense is deep, with guys like [player_tooltip player_id='1624554' first='Logan' last='Lawrence'], [player_tooltip player_id='1624605' first='Cruz' last='Calcagni'], and Nate Johnson, having major games throughout the year. This matchup, is must watch, as John Jay looks to beat Mamaroneck twice and win a Championship, while Mamaroneck looks for revenge on the big stage.
