The Class of 2026 rankings were updated earlier this week, with a major shakeup that included over 150 new names and significant movement. To cover the rankings update, I wanted to highlight some of the top available prospects.

These five prospects are the highest-ranked UNCOMMITTED prospects in the state and should be on the recruiting board ASAP!

It's hard to imagine the leading tackler on an all-time historic defense wouldn't be off the board by now, but senior [player_tooltip player_id='402165' first='Teagan' last='Urban'] has yet to announce his commitment and looks like the biggest steal in the class at the moment. Teagan had an explosive season as he recorded 113 tackles, a whopping 43 TFLs, 11.5 sacks, a forced fumble, three fumble recoveries, and two interceptions. As if you couldn't tell by the stats, but Teagan was absolutely everywhere for the Patriots' defense, playing like a blur on the field. His game speed really stands out on tape, as you can line him up to do anything and know that he can more than hold his own, whether he's out in space or mugging the line of scrimmage. You can tell he spends time in the film room by how quickly he reads his keys and processes plays on the fly. Teagan's sideline-to-sideline range and excellent closing speed are impressive to watch as they help him break on the ball as soon as he keys on the run or sees the QB wind up a pass. He does a great job containing the edge to keep from runs leaking to the outside and has the competitive motor to track down ball-carriers from the backside of the play. Very good pass rusher who can win with finesse or flat-out power his way into opposing backfields. High-level player with the work ethic and championship pedigree to succeed at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1114433' first='Maurice' last='Purify II'], WR - Omaha Westside - 6'4" 180 lbs - (@MopurifyII)

Omaha Westside 3-star WR [player_tooltip player_id='1114433' first='Maurice' last='Purify II'] is back on the board after announcing his decommitment to Washington State earlier this season. Purify's 41 receiving yards, 589 receiving yards, and 10 touchdowns in his senior campaign will be sure to bring several teams to the table in the closing weeks of the '26 signing period. Maurice is a taller receiver at 6'4", 180 pounds, but moves like a shiftier slot receiver with clean routes and the ability to create separation. Purify does a great job setting up his route by winning off the ball with a clean release, good stem, and sharp break at the top of the route. He's a solid hands receiver who is consistent at getting his hands up and attacking the ball, with the strength and concentration to hold on through contact. Maurice's size and downfield speed make him a threat to take the top off of a defense, while showing he can elevate to snag the ball at the high point. Nice twitch after the catch to shake defenders loose and tack on some extra yardage. Huge catch radius, good deep ball tracking, and tough— all some extra attributes that sweeten the deal!

[player_tooltip player_id='1660979' first='Caleb' last='Offner'], OL - Falls City - 6'7" 300 lbs - (@CalebOffner12)

Senior [player_tooltip player_id='1660979' first='Caleb' last='Offner'] made the transition from 8-man football at Winside last fall to 11-man with the Falls City Tigers this season and continued to flash the same upside that has made him a rising prospect in the past couple of months. Offner stands out immediately, boasting measurables that pop off the page at 6'7" and 300 pounds, with room to continue filling out his frame once he gets to the next level. What also stands out is that he has the athleticism and mobility to make him more than just a "big mauler." Offner plays with good footwork and a balanced base as he drops into pass protection while also displaying great lateral quickness to stay engaged with pass rushers. He uses his hands well, making sure to get all his length on his initial jab, and knows how to work them inside to gain leverage over his opponent. Caleb also does a great job as a run blocker, showing that he can generate the power to drive defenders off the ball and eventually into the dirt. Offner could see a future on the defensive line as well, with a monstrous presence on the interior where he can stack blockers to clog up running lanes and muddy up the opposing QB's vision when he gets his hands up at the LOS. A fiery mean streak that leads to many violent finishes.

[player_tooltip player_id='488222' first='Nathan' last='Axmann'], RB - Waverly - 6'0" 190 lbs - (@NAxmann)

Few players have upped their stock this season like Waverly RB [player_tooltip player_id='488222' first='Nathan' last='Axmann'], who spearheaded their march towards claiming the Class B championship. In what was already a prolific career, Axmann had his most productive season with 2,013 rushing yards, 320 receiving yards, 28 rushing touchdowns, two receiving touchdowns, and a passing touchdown. Part of what separated Nathan from himself last season was that he looked bigger while also getting quicker and faster, which is a scary thought. Nathan has great vision, allowing him to find open creases with ease, along with an excellent burst as he fires through his hole. He does a great job making quick, subtle cuts when working in tight quarters, which helps him avoid taking additional contact from defenders, and can then hit his next gear as soon as he sees open field. Even with some more finesse to his game, Axmann didn't stray too far away from being the bruising back that is willing to drop the pads to flatten any defender in his path, and he has the strong contact balance to stay upright as he fights through tackle attempts. Nathan is also a great receiving target who can make defenses pay if you can get him the ball in space with some blockers out front.

[player_tooltip player_id='1157382' first='Vincent' last='Sall'], DB - Creighton Prep - 6'3" 190 lbs - (@VincentSall_)

Despite seeing his season being cut to six games due to injury, it was clear to see the high level of play that senior [player_tooltip player_id='1157382' first='Vincent' last='Sall'] brought to the field. Sall ended his senior campaign with 30 tackles, 5 PBUs, and a TFL. Vincent stands out on the roster sheet with next-level measurables at 6'3", 190 pounds, and the lengthy frame you like to see at the CB position. He flashes as a well-rounded corner who can handle man, zone, and press coverage, and is willing to step up against the run game. Vincent is a smart, instinctive player who does a great job reading his keys and picking up passing concepts. He has the speed (4.5 40-yard dash) and the lateral quickness to keep up with receivers in coverage. I was very impressed with Sall's ability to be physical with receivers, showing he is willing to challenge them at the catch point while playing through the hands to break up passes. He can also fight off perimeter blocks with ease, allowing him to defend the run or sniff out screen passes to his side of the field. Good change of direction, footwork, consistent pad level, and proper tackling form. Lots of upside as a CB who could also play anywhere along the secondary.
