Week Six Spotlight: Houston Offensive Standouts

<p>We've officially passed the halfway point of the season for Texas high school football, and in the Houston region, it has been wild up to this point. From upsets, to juggernauts, to breakout stars, this season has had everything coming out of the H. In Week 6 in particular, there was a surplus of spectacular offensive performances. Let's shoutout 6 from Week 6. </p>    <p class="text-gray-700">Barnes put up an absolute Randy Moss stat line on Friday night, with 4 total touchdowns and a 2-point conversion. He demonstrated stellar deep ball ability with the (4.5) speed and ball-tracking combination to get behind defenders and reel in bombs. Dorian showcases a great release off the line of scrimmage and is a very fluid, controlled route-runner. With three receiving TDs, he added a kick return score with his elusiveness and vision. While he did throw his first two interceptions of the season, he also remarkably amassed the 500-yard mark against a very talented defense. Noah completed 72% of his passes and produced 3 TDs through the air. The Bulldogs' signal-caller looked poised in the pocket and showcased his great arm strength and accuracy in between and outside the numbers all game. Spinks continues to pile up a strong season with a lot of development in his play. The Falcons' star pill toter totaled nearly 200 yards on 23 carries, going for 5 TDs. Wayne showcases loose hips, sudden footwork, and great body balance control. He also demonstrates his great experience carrying the ball with stellar vision, good pad-level, and little wasted movement. He totaled 209 scrimmage yards on just 17 touches, with 174 on the ground. He continues to emerge as a dynamic piece to the Eagles' offense with great speed and ability to accelerate out of his cuts. CJ runs behind his pads with a dynamic burst and showcases effortless but intentional cutback ability. He also has been consistently valuable in the passing game all season. His production has led to mid-season offer pickups from Arizona State and Washington State.</p>      <p class="text-gray-700">With a tall frame and great arm strength, Mendenhall left it all out there versus Foster on Friday, totaling an unreal 480 total yards and 7 touchdowns. Kaden possesses a quick release and throughs the deep ball with great touch over the middle of the field. Three of his six passing TDs were 40+ yards, and the Rams' star signal-caller also added a 9-yard scramble for 6. For a 6'4 gunslinger, Mendenhall has great downfield running ability, as he utilized his smooth stride speed to total over 150 yards on the ground in his electric performance. He flashed explosiveness out of the backfield and also displayed great patience and vision, setting up his blocks at all three levels. His lower body contact balance was remarkable breaking tackles while sustaining a strong pad-level. Martin hits gaps with great burst and is sudden in his change of direction. A twitchy back with 10.4 100m speed and all the intangibles to set up long runs for himself, Martin should continue to dominate for the Panthers down the stretch.
