Enjoy!

Every Wednesday on Prep Redzone Oklahoma, we're continuing our week of preview coverage by looking at this week's ten players to watch in some of the biggest games of the week. Whether it's offense or defense, these ten players should have significant impacts on what we see Friday night! And be sure to check out the PRZ-Oklahoma Preview Show on our YouTube Channel Wednesday night as we take a further look at this week's players to watch, including plenty of highlights. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma every day this week to get ready for week six!

[player_tooltip player_id='1366322' first='Braden' last='Ward'] - Senior Quarterback - Pryor

Pryor senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1366322' first='Braden' last='Ward'] is off to a fantastic start this season and he's a big reason why the Tigers have climbed up to #3 in Class 5A and are undefeated on the season. Ward is putting up big numbers this fall and will once again be one of the top passers in the state. But the thing that we've liked about his game this season is his ability to spread the ball around to all the different playmakers that Pryor has on the offensive side of the ball. We saw it first hand a few weeks ago and the numbers back it up as multiple receivers have had their moments. Ward and the Tigers will look to continue that dominant play on the offensive side of the ball when they square off with Claremore on Friday night. This is one of a few match-ups this week that involve two undefeated teams going head to head in week six.

[player_tooltip player_id='1830748' first='Cecil' last='Garrett'] - Senior Running Back - Claremore

On the other side of the match-up with Pryor is Claremore, with their star is senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1830748' first='Cecil' last='Garrett'] and it's time to start talking more about him moving forward. Garrett has run for more than 900 yards in the first five games, along with 12 touchdowns. He's making a very strong argument that he's one of the best running backs in Class 5A and you can make an argument that he's one of the best in the state, regardless of class. Garrett has been incredibly productive, every single week and this clash with Pryor is going to be a fun one to watch. While Pryor will rely on their quarterback, Claremore is going to counter with Garrett and a running game that has yet to be contained so far this season. The winner of Friday night's game is still alive for the district title while the loser will need some help.

[player_tooltip player_id='1539927' first='Donavin' last='Garfield'] - Senior Quarterback - Seminole

We just added Seminole senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1539927' first='Donavin' last='Garfield'] to our Player Of The Year watchlist last week and he continues to put up big numbers. Garfield has solidified himself as one of, if not the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the state. The numbers back that up. He'd be one of the top quarterbacks in the state if we just focused on his passing numbers. But you throw in the production he's had on the ground and he's a player that has become a must-watch for us moving forward. He's a big reason why Seminole has started this season with a 5-0 record but there's no doubt that the Chieftains are facing their toughest test of the year this week against Perkins-Tryon. With a win, they are going to stay in the district championship race. With a loss, they'll need a lot of help moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='1348269' first='Judson' last='Gilliland'] - Senior Running Back/Linebacker - Mustang

Mustang senior [player_tooltip player_id='1348269' first='Judson' last='Gilliland'] is one of the more underrated "newcomers" this season. 6A-1 features plenty of new faces on various teams but Gilliland has been an outstanding addition for the Broncos. He came to Mustang this summer after becoming a two-way star for Bethany over the last few years. Offensively, he's an absolute workhorse at the running back position and a tough back to bring down in a one on one situation. Defensively, Gilliland can play multiple positions and he's been able to have an impact there as well. You don't see very many two-way stars at the 6A-1 level and when you do, they are among the best players in the state. Gilliland has been outstanding so far this season and the Broncos will need him to perform at that level as they go on the road to face Jenks on Friday.

[player_tooltip player_id='1084102' first='Justin' last='Palacios'] - Junior Running Back - Hooker

The panhandle of Oklahoma will be the stage for a top five clash in Class A-1. Hooker hosts unbeaten Cashion and it'll be another opportunity for us to see junior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1084102' first='Justin' last='Palacios'] in person. Palacios has been a standout running back for the Bulldogs since his freshman season in 2023. He's produced every season and nothing has changed this year. Despite having a first year head coach, Palacios is still one of the top running backs in the class and the Bulldogs are one of the top contenders to make it back to Edmond. Palacios has been incredibly productive throughout his career and the Bulldogs will lean on him in this match-up on Friday night. Cashion is undefeated on the season and if the Bulldogs want to hand them their first loss, Palacios will need to have another strong performance.

[player_tooltip player_id='1663602' first='Lucky' last='Heath'] - Senior Wide Receiver - Woodland

Woodland squares off with district rival Hominy on Friday night and the smallest 11-man team in the state will rely on their playmakers to get a win and take control of the district race. Senior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1663602' first='Lucky' last='Heath'] is one of those players and we're looking forward to seeing what kind of game he has Friday night. Last season, Heath was off to a great start in the district match-up with Hominy. But he got one too many unsportsmanlike penalties and had to leave the game early. On Friday night, it will be critical that Heath play all four quarters against a senior-heavy Hominy squad. As we've stated before, history tells us that this match-up usually ends up deciding the district title. Heath is a big part of what Woodland does on offense, defense and special teams and they'll be looking for a big night from him.

[player_tooltip player_id='1035153' first='Maddox' last='Davis'] - Junior Quarterback - Bethel

Bethel is off to a 5-0 start but they without a doubt have their toughest test of the season when they square off with Kingston on Friday night. Bethel has had several players stand out every week this season but we're putting the spotlight on junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1035153' first='Maddox' last='Davis'] after his hot start. Davis has thrown 19 touchdowns and he has Bethel in a position to not only make it back to the playoffs but potentially make a run once they get there. Before they can start thinking about the playoffs, they have to take care of Kingston on Friday night. Kingston is a top five team in Class 2A-1 and will provide a major challenge to Davis and this Bethel offense, that has been on fire so far this season. But if Davis can produce at the level that we've seen from them so far this season, Bethel could pull off the major win.

[player_tooltip player_id='1179993' first='Nakwaine' last='Carter'] - Senior Defensive Lineman - Southmoore

Southmoore defensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1179993' first='Nakwaine' last='Carter'] is one of the most disruptive players in the state of Oklahoma. There's a big reason why Carter is among the state's best overall defensive prospects in the 2026 class and one of the best at his position. Carter plays the game with an edge and is an absolute force on the line of scrimmage. We've said this in the past but Carter is one of those typical defensive tackles that impact the game in a variety of ways. He's either getting into the backfield and causing havoc or he's occupying multiple offensive linemen that his teammates have a clear path to cause the havoc. The Sabercats are off to a 4-1 start but they have their toughest challenge of the season this week. They face defending champion Choctaw and Carter will need to play at that dominant level to win.

[player_tooltip player_id='467408' first='Ryley' last='Kester'] - Senior Offensive Lineman - Jenks

Jenks has several players that would be considered "players to watch" every week but we're going to the line of scrimmage for this one. Senior offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='467408' first='Ryley' last='Kester'] leads a Jenks OL unit that might be one of the best in the state. They pave the way for a group of skill players that are also among the best in the state. We've had a high opinion of Kester since his freshman season at Sand Springs. It was clear from the start of his career that he was among the state's very best at his position and nothing has changed since then. Kester can play any position on the offensive line and have success. He's currently committed to Tulsa but more P4 programs are starting to come after him. Kester is an old school offensive lineman that plays the game with a mean streak and rarely loses.

[player_tooltip player_id='1400727' first='Shawn' last='Rounsaville Jr'] - Senior Running Back/Linebacker - Tuttle

We've said it before but we'll say it again here. Tuttle senior [player_tooltip player_id='1400727' first='Shawn' last='Rounsaville Jr'] is one of the more underrated players in the state of Oklahoma. Tuttle has a fantastic offense, led by a next level quarterback but don't overlook what the Tigers can do in the running game with Rounsaville. Offensively, Rounsaville can be a workhorse at the running back position. He's a tough runner who has turned into a touchdown machine this season. Defensively, Rounsaville is also a standout defensive player and he's shined on that side of the ball this season. Tuttle is squaring off with district rival Bethany on Friday night. They have a lot of momentum after beating Blanchard. Rounsaville and the Tigers are looking to remain undefeated on the season with another big victory on Friday night.
