Week 7 Scouting Report: Hudsonville

The Eagles battled back and forth with East Kentwood, and even when the game seemed to be over, they kept battling and found a way to win. The offense flowed through him all night long on Friday night. His performance Friday just showed the leadership and pure playmaking ability he possesses. It all came together in the final minute as he perfectly executed their 2-minuite offense to set up the game winning touchdown. He was hitting guys with incredible timing and rhythm, and it was the difference in the game for Hudsonville. Below are a few of the notes I took on his performance. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-Strong arm. Drives the ball downfield with velocity and accuracy. Consistently hit receivers in stride downfield. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-Mobile and athletic both in the pocket and outside of the tackles he can throw on the run, off balance or just tuck it and run. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-Vocal leader who kept rallying his group all night long. The Hudsonville offense was finding some success through the air, but he provided that threat on the ground that kept the East Kentwood defense honest. Maybe the highlight was a great toe tap catch in the back of the end zone, where he had to finish the catch through pass interference. On top of that, he was also a nasty and punishing blocker who was able to make a difference in the run game. They relied on him to get open on the last drive and give an easy throw to his QB and get out of bounds and he delivered. He consistently created separation, secured the catch and got out of bounds. Beyond that final drive, he was a threat all night long for Hudsonville. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-Big and physical receiver with a wide catch radius. Creates an easy target for his QB. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-Excellent change of direction and body control allows him to win routes and create space. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-Crisp, disciplined routes. Friday night, he was able to terrorize the offense all night long and make life difficult for a B1G committed quarterback. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-Great versatility. Wins with power, speed or finesse. Can roll one move right into another to keep the offensive lineman guessing on his next move. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-Great size and frame allows him to anchor down on the edge and turn things back inside in the run game. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-Elite burst and bend, active hands and plays relenentlessly.
