If you follow this site with any regularity, you know we've been talking about region games for a couple of weeks now. Some teams and regions are deep into the process while others are just getting started.

But we wanted to look at five games across the CSRA/Midland's area that should create some buzz this week. But the first thing we want you to do is look at the scores from the games between the team's last season. All the way down the list, you notice one blowout after another. We don't expect the same this season.

Here is a list of games that will provide a lot of information of what may happen the remainder of October and into November.

Newberry (7-0, 1-0) at Fox Creek (5-1, 0-0)

Last Year: Newberry 47-0

Players to Watch: N – [player_tooltip player_id='1267234' first='Kenton' last='Caldwell'] (QB) [player_tooltip player_id='1099127' first='Jamere' last='Crooks'] (ATH) [player_tooltip player_id='1672927' first='Ty' last='Abrams'] (RB) [player_tooltip player_id='1267311' first='Julian' last='Senn'] (LB) [player_tooltip player_id='1615022' first='Eli' last='Sanders'] (OL); FC – [player_tooltip player_id='1821681' first='Brandon' last='Wallace'] (ATH) [player_tooltip player_id='1824044' first='Bryson' last='Crawford'] (RB) [player_tooltip player_id='1825010' first='Noah' last='Gaines'] (LB) [player_tooltip player_id='1822476' first='Mekhi' last='Quiller'] (ATH) [player_tooltip player_id='1816110' first='John' last='Truesdell'] (DL/OL)

Notable: Fox Creek is coming off its first loss of the season in a 21-13 setback at the hands of undefeated Orangeburg-Wilkinson. Now they get another of the 13 teams still undefeated in the SCHSL to begin region play. The Predators have a budding star in Wallace, who has 541 yards rushing, 499 yards passing and a total of 12 touchdowns. But Crawford has been the driver of the offense with 827 yards rushing and 16 touchdowns. [player_tooltip player_id='1822476' first='Mekhi' last='Quiller'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1822485' first='Mikah' last='Quiller'] will be key in the secondary against an explosive offense. The Bulldogs have been blowing opponents out until a 22-19 win over Silver Bluff last week. Newberry trailed 19-7 in the third quarter before rallying for the victory. Caldwell has accounted for over 20 touchdowns at this point and is having an unbelievable senior season. South Carolina commit [player_tooltip player_id='816735' first='Jamel' last='Howse'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1771641' first='Cash' last='Brown'] lead to the bevy of weapons Caldwell has at his disposal.

Ridge View (4-2, 2-0) at Lugoff-Elgin (4-3, 1-2)

Last year: Ridge View 50-0

Players to Watch: RV – [player_tooltip player_id='1819592' first='Ryan' last='Williams'] (RB) [player_tooltip player_id='1818714' first='Carter' last='Coleman'] (WR) [player_tooltip player_id='1822157' first='Joshua' last='Braveboy'] (OL) Markeith Thomas (LB) [player_tooltip player_id='1818586' first='Kingston' last='Lucas'] (DB); LE – Eric Richardon (ATH) [player_tooltip player_id='1267277' first='Shamil' last='Saadiq'] (WR) [player_tooltip player_id='1821253' first='Rivers' last='Moak'] LB) [player_tooltip player_id='1422637' first='Corey' last='Murphy'] (CB) [player_tooltip player_id='1734627' first='Pervis' last='Walker'] (DL)

Notable: Again, this game wasn't close last season but both teams come in this season with some of the most explosive playmakers in the area. The Blazers were without defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='1267280' first='Jordyn' last='Best'] and receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1172363' first='Khristian' last='Jackson'] last week and hope to have both back soon, but others have stepped up in their absence. [player_tooltip player_id='1350429' first='Ashton' last='Chapman'] has been playing at a high level at quarterback with talented targets in Coleman and [player_tooltip player_id='1819595' first='Jourdin' last='Mack'] among others. [player_tooltip player_id='1149057' first='Spencer' last='Bobian'] has rushed for over 100 yards in five of the six games he's played this season. [player_tooltip player_id='1822155' first='Jaiden' last='Brown'] and Drew Madison lead the defense with three sacks each. Saadiq (48 catches for 875 yards) and Richardson (31 for 541 yards) give sophomore QB [player_tooltip player_id='1823858' first='Zach' last='Williams'] two bona fide go-to targets. The key for this one might be if the Demons defense can slow Ridge View. That will put Moak, Walker and [player_tooltip player_id='1823862' first='Logan' last='Hinton'] into pressure situations.

Pelion (4-2, 1-0) at Saluda (4-2, 1-0)

Last year: Saluda 50-0

Players to Watch: P – [player_tooltip player_id='1708197' first='Jai' last='Chuniesingh'] (WR) [player_tooltip player_id='1818894' first='Tre' last='Jackson'] (RB) [player_tooltip player_id='1818891' first='TJ' last='Jackson'] (DB) [player_tooltip player_id='1822824' first='Johnathan' last='Davis'] (LB) [player_tooltip player_id='1822818' first='Hunter' last='Rawl'] LB); S – [player_tooltip player_id='1822966' first='Brayden' last='Williams'] (QB) Tristian Daniels (RB) [player_tooltip player_id='1592013' first='Akiem' last='Mills'] (LB) CJ Springs (ATH) [player_tooltip player_id='1824968' first='Ceddion' last='Springs'] (ATH)

Notable: Let's start with the season that Chuniesingh (pictured) is having. The senior missed last season with an injury but is one of the top pass catchers in the state with 40 receptions for 829 yards and 10 touchdowns. He's been over 100 receiving yards in every game. That gives quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1820308' first='Alan' last='Moore'] a talented go-to target. The Panthers are coming off a school record 602-yard performance. [player_tooltip player_id='1618829' first='Brady' last='Cottingham'] has done a little bit of everything, averaging 42 yards rushing per game and right at 10 tackles per contest. The Tigers will look to take advantage of the passing of Williams, the rushing of Daniels and the receiving of [player_tooltip player_id='1824968' first='Ceddion' last='Springs'] and CJ Springs in keeping pace with the high-scoring Panthers offense. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1802495' first='Darryl' last='Hill'] will be a key in the secondary for Saluda.

Keenan (2-5, 0-1) at Silver Bluff (3-4, 0-1)

Last year: Keenan 44-15

Players to Watch: K –[player_tooltip player_id='1822186' first='Jaemon' last='Benson'] (DB) [player_tooltip player_id='1821766' first='Russell' last='Sutton'] (DB) [player_tooltip player_id='1822183' first='X'zeavier' last='Collins'] (DB) Marcus Simpson (WR) [player_tooltip player_id='1822187' first='Hunter' last='O'Neal'] (RB) ; SB – [player_tooltip player_id='1823571' first='Zykee' last='Williams'] (DB) [player_tooltip player_id='1820966' first='Blake' last='Freeland'] (WR) [player_tooltip player_id='1654810' first='Drelyn' last='Brown'] (ATH) Trellis Riley (QB) [player_tooltip player_id='1820958' first='Jessie' last='Shelley'] (ATH)

Notable: Both these teams come in need of a victory in the worst way. Keenan has lost four in a row and needs to find a way to get O'Neal back into the form he had earlier in the season. The Raiders lost to undefeated Swansea 31-22 last week and have played a difficult schedule to this point. [player_tooltip player_id='1603881' first='Darius' last='Dixon'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1673957' first='Conrad' last='Hampton'] are both well on their way to having over 100 tackles on the season. Silver Bluff has lost two of three but led undefeated Newberry 19-7 to start the fourth quarter last week. If Riley and Brown can control the ground game, the Bulldogs might have an advantage at the line of scrimmage. Jordan Givens has played well at linebacker and kicker [player_tooltip player_id='1816704' first='JJ' last='Brittain'] is a game-changer on special teams.

Dutch Fork (4-1, 1-0) at White Knoll (5-1, 1-0)

Last year: Dutch Fork 38-0

Players to Watch: DF – [player_tooltip player_id='1821111' first='Quintin' last='Wilson'] (RB) [player_tooltip player_id='568697' first='Stone' last='Furrey'] (WR) [player_tooltip player_id='1734522' first='Mario' last='Anderson'] (DB) [player_tooltip player_id='1777821' first='Ethan' last='Moze'] (LB) [player_tooltip player_id='1463245' first='Luciano' last='Cesario'] (DL); WK – Jhais McKiever (QB) [player_tooltip player_id='1025815' first='Caleb' last='Geronomi'] (ATH) [player_tooltip player_id='1592362' first='Josue' last='Esiki'] (LB) [player_tooltip player_id='1734647' first='Keaton' last='Bennett'] (LB) [player_tooltip player_id='1306635' first='Jeadon' last='Johnson'] (OL/DL)

Notable: The Silver Foxes have one of the most talented defensive lines in the state with Cesario, [player_tooltip player_id='1592529' first='Julian' last='Walker'], [player_tooltip player_id='409882' first='Jaden' last='Wuerth'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1821107' first='JeQuann' last='Henderson'] combining for 26 total tackles for loss. If they control the line of scrimmage, it will be difficult for the Timberwolves playmakers to get going. Wilson has played in only three games but he's the leading rusher with 258 yards and six touchdowns. Brayden Johnson is a threat in the running and receiving game and has seven touchdowns on 34 touches. White Knoll has not lost since a season-opening setback against Camden. They will count on the passing of McKiever and the rushing of [player_tooltip player_id='1036740' first='Tiyon' last='Fanning'] to try and keep pace. Bennett is coming off 12 tackles, three sacks, a pass break-up and a QB pressure in a 35-3 win over River Bluff. In the five-game winning streak, the defense led by Esiki has allowed 32 points.
