The best special teams play I saw all night came from Rapid City Central 2028 Brayden McCulley, a new name on my radar that was impactful by his first look. Rapid City Stevens attempted an onside kick to start the half, that didn't end well. Brayden took the onside kick to the house for around what was a 50-yard return for a touchdown, which I don't think I have ever seen since we got started in the Dakotas in early 2021. I also got to watch his kicking leg and I was impressed with how much leg he had plus hangtime that was there for his age, as a 2028 kicker to get on my radar.

You like wide receivers that can get you yards after contact? The best I saw last night from a YAC perspective in South Dakota was Rapid City Central 2026 wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1300016' first='Brayden' last='Jackson']. He didn't show it once, or twice, he showed it every time the ball was thrown his way. He only has one NSIC offer thus far surprisingly and at 6'2 185 pounds runs a 11.02 100-meter dash. With high upside, he is one that needs more traction on his recruiting trail.

A newer name to my radar that left an impression in the Cobblers crosstown win over Stevens was on both sides of the ball, as Onzei Weaver seemed to be everywhere and that is the tale on tape too. The 5'10 170 pounder played with one of the biggest motors I saw yesterday on either side of the ball. It's clear as day that this young man has a great football IQ that plays with presence on every down. The good news for college coaches? He is super under the radar with no offers yet and light interest surprisingly. 3.6 GPA as well!

Henry was another Cobbler with the ball in his hands while usually in motion, you could grasp the athleticism he played with on Thursday night. He also showed off a 2026 athlete that is elusive especially around the edges with his change of direction. Another one that relishes with position flexibility on either side of the ball that has a couple offers that he has picked up since December from the D2 and NAIA levels. The athleticism Henry has plays above his measurables surely.

My MVP of Thursday night's Rapid City crosstown rivalry goes to 2026 RB/LB [player_tooltip player_id='848938' first='Weiland' last='Benbo']. I don't have the final stat total, but Weiland was slight over the 100 yard rushing mark last night for the Cobblers. Man, was I impressed with the fluidity that this young man has gained in the Cobblers run game as especially when he hits the A-gap, Weiland runs with a full head of steam that would appear to be a tough test to try to tackle when he's running downhill. I also have noticed development with Weiland and his patience in the run game as especially last night, his vision was apparent that he needs more opportunities to play on Saturdays.
