Here is the latest in the notebook. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A handful of verbal commitments dropped this week around the state. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Jackson 2026 OL Brysen Wessell (6'5” 280) decided to stay home and flipped his verbal commitment from Iowa State to the Missouri Tigers. The very athletic Wessell is a top 20 ranked PRZ player in the state in his class.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Iowa State landed a big commitment from Cardinal Ritter 2026 DL prospect [player_tooltip player_id='1305795' first='Jocques' last='Felix'] (6'4" 275) who has been one of the top defensive linemen in the state this season so far. His recruitment continued to take off over the past year. He's an explosive linemen who can play inside or outside and rush the passer and play strong against the run. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Park Hill DE [player_tooltip player_id='1129814' first='Jonah' last='Were'] (6'3" 250) is another top defensive lineman in the 2026 class who pulled the trigger on a verbal commitment to Southern Illinois this week. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Lindenwood University landed a huge verbal commitment from local 2026 WR Zach Allen (6'1" 175) from SLUH. Allen actually flipped his commitment from Northern Iowa to the Lions following a recent visit to Lindenwood. The speedy receiver is having a big senior season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Lions had recently picked up a verbal commitment from SLUH 2026 RB [player_tooltip player_id='284042' first='Jordan' last='Taylor'] (5'9" 190) to give them two of the top players from the Jr. Bills very successful team. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>UCF offered Platte County 2026 QB [player_tooltip player_id='849688' first='Rocco' last='Marriott'] (6'4" 212) following an official visit there. Marriott is committed to James Madison but has recently been offered by West Virginia and is receiving interest from other Power 4 schools. He is having a record setting season and schools have taken notice. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Lindbergh 2027 DL prospect [player_tooltip player_id='813880' first='Jameson' last='Honey'] (6'3" 260) landed his first D1 offer from Northwestern this week. The strong and explosive defensive line prospect has been a tireless worker to build himself into a high level college prospect. His recruitment will continue to take off.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Iowa has offered St. Mary's 2027 RB [player_tooltip player_id='1452148' first='Kingston' last='Miles'] (6'1" 196) following his recent game day visit to watch the Hawkeyes. Miles is one of the top running backs in the Midwest. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Memphis is the latest offer from Francis Howell Central 2027 TE [player_tooltip player_id='1130985' first='Jack' last='Brown'] (6'5" 225) who currently holds the highest number of offers in his class so far in the state. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Blue Springs South 2027 EDGE/OLB [player_tooltip player_id='1587367' first='Prince' last='Goldsby'] (6'4" 210) picked up his first two offers this past week from Sacramento State and Missouri State. Goldsby is one of the top pass rushers in 2025 with his speed and quick first step. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Costal Carolina has offered Platte County 2026 TE [player_tooltip player_id='1320111' first='Brooks' last='Hall'] (6'5" 225) who is having a monster senior season as part of an 8-0 team that has had the most explosive offense regardless of class in 2025. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Iowa Western has offered West Plains 2026 DL [player_tooltip player_id='284041' first='Jaxon' last='Hunter'] (6'3" 250) who is also having a strong season playing on the offensive line as well.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Kent State had offered a pair of 2028 De Smet Spartans. RB [player_tooltip player_id='1598517' first='Cameran' last='Sharp'] (5'9" 165) has added an offer from from them along with DL [player_tooltip player_id='1609281' first='Ty' last='Veltrop'] (6'2" 245). Both have had a big role for their team with the speedy Sharp being their leading rusher in 2025, and Veltrop part of the Spartan defensive line. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Missouri Southern offered Lee's Summit North 2026 NG/OL [player_tooltip player_id='849682' first='Marcel' last='Reed'] (6'1" 300)</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Festus 2026 ATH Jackson Frank (6'0" 165) picked up two offers from Truman State and Southwest Baptist University this week. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
