10/24: Brighton Rolls Past Churchville-Chili, 35-14

For Brighton they delivered a commanding performance over Churchville-Chili with a 35-14 win. No doubt, [player_tooltip player_id='1213835' first='Matthew' last='Heininger'] showed up on both sides of the ball, showing his aggressiveness as an LB with 5 tackles, in which 2 of them were TFLs. Equally, Heininger had 80 total yards and a TD before halftime that really turned the tide for the Bruins. [player_tooltip player_id='820006' first='Justin' last='Medina'], who had 22 carries for 184 yards and 4 touchdowns, was another key player for Brighton. Medina was electric, as Churchville-Chili had no answers in stopping his speed. Furthermore, [player_tooltip player_id='1344744' first='Amari' last='Snowden'], [player_tooltip player_id='1294921' first='Zahmar' last='Tookes'], Queyanu McDermott, and [player_tooltip player_id='1217497' first='Titus' last='Nebbia'] all showed up on defense for their team in limiting Churchville-Chili's defense to 14 points.

That sledding was tough for Churchville-Chili on both the offensive and defensive sides. Conversely, the biggest offensive play for the Saints came in the 4th quarter on a 58-yard TD pass from QB Jaxon Leonard. Finally, a 67-yard screen pass to Jayden Jager to get 14 points on the board helped make the game closer, but it ultimately fell short.

Brighton will take on #1 ranked Irondequoit next week in the Section V A1 Semifinals.

10/24: Irondequoit Escapes Upset from Spencerport, 12-7

It was a close-ended matchup between Irondequoit and Spencerport, as the Eagles escaped with a hard-fought 12–7 victory. Coupled with the ability to sneak away with the win, the biggest impact player for the Eagles was RB Cooper Moore. For example, the biggest runs were a 51-yard run and an 11-yard TD run on a quick pitch. The other score was a 79-yard TD pass on a quick play action fake.

Spencerport put up a huge fight, but in the end it came up short on an onside kick. One of the biggest catches of the night for the Rangers was from Dominic Sprague. Spragye made a diving catch deep down the field. Moreover, that catch set up an Amari Marianett-Smith score near the goal line.

It will be quite the game next week as Irondequoit hosts Brighton next weekend.
