Prep Bowl Scouting Report: Jackson Lumen Christi vs. Center Line

Jackson Lumen Christi is cruising into the playoffs with all of the momentum in the world after this blowout win. This was our second time watching JLC, and I may be even more impressed now than I was early in the season. Below are a few new standouts, plus a handful of players that raised their stock between week 2 and now.    Another special day for Cash in this one. It's well documented, but I saw a lot of the same traits that I always look for in an elite EDGE. Great bend, tremendous motor and discipline. Cash does a great job of keeping offensive linemen from getting to his chest and gaining leverage, and when he sticks his foot in the ground and gets up field to crush the pocket, tackles struggle to stay in front of him without getting out of position and off balance. Cash did a great job in this one, and will be an anchor for this defense as we head into the playoffs.     Last time we evaluated JLC, we observed Paul Sattler having a coming out party against Notre Dame Prep. It seems like in Sattler's absence, it was Walicki's turn. He was everything Lumen Christi needed from him. Defensively, he was everywhere. It seemed like he was in on every tackle. He reacted well, and flew downhill for some force tackles. Offensively, he was running through arm tackles and bouncing off defenders all game long. He took a physical toll on the defense, and it showed. I don't know how they do it, but Lumen Christi always has the next man up ready to go, and Walicki was another example of that.     I have taken some notes on Colin previously, but this was by far the most impressed I have been with him. He was firing off the ball hard, getting up under the defenders pads and absolutely moving them out of the way. Multiple times he showed off his sheer power by just overwhelming the defender, keeping his legs chopping and driving them down the field, completely out of the play. Fuller was able to execute some high level blocks throughout the game and looked like the anchor of the offensive line. Hopefully I am able to see him once again to see him perform against some higher level competition!     Ali was one of the bright spots for Center Line. Overall, it was a tough day for them offensively, but Ali was still able to showcase his skill. He was great on the ground, taking handoffs and making multiple guys miss before fighting for some extra yardage. What really impressed me though, was his ability to take screens and swing passes and deal real damage in space. His change of direction and burst of speed is extremely rare, and he was able to leverage it into some doomed plays into positives. Ali projects nicely as a slot receiver and kick/punt return specialist at the next level with an extremely high ceiling.     Matthew was a really nice find on Saturday. While he struggled to get a clean pocket, not of his doing, he was still making pretty good decisions and making some high level throws. He didn't have enough time usually, but when he did, he read the defense and was able to uncork some deep balls that were nicely placed.
