Friday's matchup in north Lafayette had been circled on the calendar since the offseason.

Two top-10 teams in Class 2A separated by just a couple minutes and featuring notable familiarity between the rosters and staffs: perennial power Lafayette Christian and young, but quickly ascending Lafayette Renaissance.

But the Knights made lopsided work of their natural rival with swarming, smothering defense and scores in all three phases to show with a 48-7 victory that they remain the clear bullies on the block.

Here's a look at 10 of the eye-catching standouts from the contest.

[player_tooltip player_id='1601816' first='Braylon' last='Walker'] — 6-0, 155 QB/ATH — Lafayette Christian (2026)

As much as we often share these lists in alphabetical order, the Knights' senior quarterback warranted top billing with his performance leading the offense including a pair of rushing touchdowns, another threw the air and several other highlights with electric runs he was able to bounce outside and several third- and fourth-down conversions. Walker finished 12-for-18 for 143 yards and rushed 14 times for 100 yards.

[player_tooltip player_id='924621' first='Brayden' last='Allen'] — 6-1, 175 WR — Lafayette Christian (2026)

and [player_tooltip player_id='1348446' first='Draylon' last='August'] — 6-2, 165 WR/DB — Lafayette Christian (2026)

Walker's big senior targets led the team in receiving — Allen with five catches for 45 yards and a 33-yard touchdown, and August with three catches for 30 yards — and intercepted a pass each on defense, including a 44-yard return for a touchdown by August and a tracking, turning, initially one-handed grab by Allen that showcased the ball skills that have Oklahoma's staff excited to have him as part of its class.

[player_tooltip player_id='1345269' first='Luke' last='Green'] — 6-1, 180 DB — Lafayette Christian (2026)

Walker's fellow Ragin' Cajuns commitment follow the end zone a couple of times himself, snatching an interception and returning a 62-yard touchdown early in the second quarter and then corralling and returned a blocked punt 22 yards to start the fourth quarter. Green, a hard-hitting tone-setter for the team, finished with seven stops, but also played well in coverage, including his crafty bating of the pick-six.

Davion Batiste — 5-8, 150 DB — Lafayette Christian (2027)

The junior didn't end up with the big-splash scoring plays of Green, but felt at times as though he was everywhere on the field with his reads and breaks on balls to finish the nights with a handful of deflected passes and five tackles.

Jayden Arceneaux — 5-11, 210 EDGE/LB — Lafayette Christian (2026)

and Joseph Adams — 6-1, 215 EDGE — Lafayette Christian (2028)

and Josh Wilson — 6-4, 190 EDGE — Lafayette Christian (2027)

The Knights' defense was stout from the outset and started during its third possession on the field to find its way more and more consistently into the backfield for disruptive plays behind the line of scrimmage as well. Arceneaux, Adams and Wilson were each credited with a sack. Arceneaux overtook the program's record with 42 career tackles for loss. Adams led the team with eight tackles. And all three players, senior Jaimason Marzell and junior Kaleb Simon were all among the Knights who brought pressure throughout the contest.

Ashton Williams — 6-2, 210 EDGE — Lafayette Renaissance Charter (2028)

The sophomore end had a couple sacks and another tackle for loss to provide an early spark for an LRCA defense that started strong before the Knights were able to start snowballing some momentum.

Ja'Courey Duhon — 5-8, 145 WR/ATH — Lafayette Renaissance Charter (2026)

The speedy senior caught all three targets his direction for 69 yards and the Tigers' lone score, a 49-yard catch-and-run up a seam in the defense.
