Hidden Gems: Unranked Seniors Spotlight (Pt. 3)

He's totaled 38 stops, 5 for a loss, and 4 sacks so far this season as an under-the-radar senior. His production is impressive for how often Wheeling Park rotates their defensive front, and Works makes the most of his reps. Works screams off the edge and does so quickly, and can chase down ball carriers from behind and harass the quarterback. He also does a nice job of stretching out run plays wide to force runners to cut back inside without turning the corner. The patience and perseverance are paying off in his final year as he's starting at center for the Patriots. His 5'10 285 frame should interest D3 programs and film to further earn himself some college looks. His 6'3 310 size should garner him D2 looks as a former highly ranked prospect in our rankings his sophomore year. Knight is a space eater in the middle of their defensive line, and he does a nice job of plugging running lanes. He's shown a lot of potential as a slot receiver prospect if he wishes to pursue football after high school. Machado is an explosive athlete with very good speed and quickness that translates well to screen passes and his ability after the catch. He's played nearly everywhere on defense for the Warriors this season, from corner to safety to outside linebacker, making plays at all three spots. Lacy is also a capable ball carrier on offense, but likely projects to the defensive side in college. He's done a nice job on defense this season for the Eagles, playing as an undersized outside linebacker. At 5'7 155, he'd be a good fit at safety at the next level with his skill set and athleticism. Collier has some playmaking ability out of the slot on offense as well and has upside to play there in college. He has a good combination of power and athleticism that has him making plays in both styles this season. Moore welcomes lowering his shoulder on a defender to run through them, but he can also make a move and force a missed tackle. He's a tough, physical runner who enjoys contact and will consistently fall forward and fight for extra yards.
