Future of the Bay: 2028 Quarterbacks Standing Out Week 7

Florida has long been a hotbed of high school football talent. Annually, Florida produces some of the nation's top prospects. Florida athletes are known for their speed, agility, and raw athleticism. These prospects have made names for themselves and have caught the attention of coaches and scouts at the collegiate level. With the 2025 season getting closer, we're looking for players whose stock is rising in the state.   These players are all talented and have college-level abilities. Some of these players have a few offers, but all of them have the ability to play college football at some level.   There are some big-time, highly rated prospects and several sleeper prospects who should all be getting looks for the next level. This list is full of stud prospects. Hudson West (c/o 2028) Position: Quarterback School: Sarasota High Height/Weight: 6'4”, 180 lbs Current Season Stats (through Week 7): 94-165 for 1,134 yards and 17 touchdowns; 10 carries for 110 yards   Evaluation: West has emerged as one of the more promising young quarterbacks in Florida's 2028 class. At 6'4”, he possesses the ideal frame for the position and already shows strong field awareness and poise in the pocket. His 17 touchdown passes through seven weeks highlight his ability to read defenses and deliver accurate throws in scoring situations. With his size, arm strength, and developing mobility, West projects as a high-upside quarterback capable of commanding a dynamic passing attack as he matures. At 6'4”, 190 lbs, he has the physical traits and developing polish to become one of the more complete signal-callers in his class.   Rylen Dutka (c/o 2028) Position: Quarterback School: Steinbrenner High Height/Weight: 6'0”, 180 lbs Current Season Stats (through Week 7): 83-147 for 964 yards and 7 touchdowns   Evaluation: Dutka has quietly built a strong résumé this season with steady play and leadership for Steinbrenner. He operates with confidence in the short-to-intermediate passing game, showing good rhythm and timing on his throws. His poise under pressure and ability to make accurate passes on the move make him a reliable young quarterback who continues to show steady improvement each week.   Michael Pyne (c/o 2028) Position: Quarterback School: Alonso High Height/Weight: 6'2”, 205 lbs Current Season Stats (through Week 7): 63-96 for 960 yards and 8 touchdowns; 10 carries for 87 yards and 4 touchdowns   Evaluation: Pyne has been a consistent playmaker for Alonso, showing efficiency and control in the passing game while adding valuable production with his legs. His size and arm strength stand out, and his 12 total touchdowns through seven games reflect a quarterback who can finish drives and create balance offensively. With continued refinement in his mechanics and decision-making, Pyne projects as a well-rounded prospect with next-level tools.
