Continuing with my breakout player series for each position, regardless of classification or grade, it's time to check out the tight ends.

As usual, the majority of this list consists of underclassmen, as most of the top-tier players are veterans who have already had their breakout moments.

Headlining this list is Baylor's [player_tooltip player_id='1201841' first='Braxton' last='Rein'], who has been blowing up on the recruiting trail recently, followed by three other young guys.

The lone senior is [player_tooltip player_id='1626178' first='Jackson' last='Neumann'] from MBA, who's been one of the more underrated players in Tennessee this season.

It was fun putting this list together. Now, let's get into it.

Photo: Baylor tight end [player_tooltip player_id='1201841' first='Braxton' last='Rein'].

2028 TE [player_tooltip player_id='1201841' first='Braxton' last='Rein'] – Baylor School

Rein was underrated coming into this season, but now, everybody knows his name after picking up multiple Power Four offers. He possesses numerous great traits while having outstanding size, standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing 235 pounds.

The sophomore tight end is a good run blocker who's quick off the line, features sound blocking technique and has a high motor, blocking defenders through the echo of the whistle.

The Red Raider has also been an excellent receiving threat, making him a complete player.

On top of that, he has strong hands and can make contested catches. After a strong first half to his 2025 season, Rein has established himself as TE1 in his class.

Photo: Kirkwood tight end [player_tooltip player_id='1316743' first='Parker' last='Keenan'].

2027 TE [player_tooltip player_id='1316743' first='Parker' last='Keenan'] – Kirkwood

Kirkwood tight end [player_tooltip player_id='1316743' first='Parker' last='Keenan'] has shown flashes of being a highly productive player over the last few years, but has taken the next step in 2025. Keenan is a big-play threat in a massive body for a 2027 recruit.

He's already compiled 255 yards on 17 YPC and three scores in eight games. The junior is a slippery player who's extremely hard to bring down due to his big body combined with solid speed, strength, nice athleticism and elusiveness.

Keenan is built to play that flex TE position, but isn't afraid to block or get physical in the trenches.

He's still scratching the surface of his potential, but the Kirkwood Cobra has a high ceiling as a legitimate FBS prospect.

Photo: Upperman tight end [player_tooltip player_id='1679806' first='Colton' last='Johnson'] at a Prep Redzone camp.

2027 TE [player_tooltip player_id='1679806' first='Colton' last='Johnson'] – Upperman

[player_tooltip player_id='1679806' first='Colton' last='Johnson'] posted a decent sophomore year in 2024, but many people wondered if he could take the next step this season.

Well, he's done just that, transforming into the top receiving threat for Upperman.

He's caught 29 passes for 455 yards and four scores in eight games. Those numbers won't blow you away, but he's in a loaded offense where he's fighting with five other productive players for touches.

There's no need to force-feed him the ball, which is even more impressive with how efficient the junior has been.

Johnson is outstanding in the passing game with nice hands, great athleticism for a tight end, solid speed and the ability to make tough catches.

2026 TE [player_tooltip player_id='1626178' first='Jackson' last='Neumann'] – Montgomery Bell Academy

The MBA passing attack isn't potent and takes away from yardage potential, but Neumann is a difference maker for the Big Red.

He's built well, standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 215 pounds, with plenty of athleticism and awareness as a receiving tight end.

He's made several outstanding plays this season, including a toe-drag catch on the sideline against CPA on Oct. 3.

The senior can block well, too, showcasing sound technique and consistently delivering with essential blocks to help the offense move down the field.

Neumann is going under the radar, but I'm a big fan of his game. The tight end has been Mr. Reliable and plays unselfish football to help his team succeed.

Photo: Sequatchie County tight end [player_tooltip player_id='454466' first='Jack' last='Evitts'] at a Prep Redzone camp.

2027 TE [player_tooltip player_id='454466' first='Jack' last='Evitts'] – Sequatchie County

[player_tooltip player_id='454466' first='Jack' last='Evitts'] is one of those rare players who has the athleticism, speed, and quickness of a wide receiver in a 6-foot-4, 225-pound body.

He's been very impressive this year for a Sequatchie County team that moves him around the field like a chess piece.

The junior boasts a good, long frame with room to put on more weight.

Evitts is willing to block and do the dirty work up front, but he's clearly more of a receiving threat with the complete mismatch he is for nearly everybody.

He's too athletic for linebackers and too big for defensive backs, so he's able to do just about whatever he wants to opposing defenses.

Evitts holds offers from schools like Florida, FAU, Bowling Green and Arkansas State, but should see more come in after a breakout season.
