His ability to make plays inside and outside of the pocket is special. As a pocket passer, he knows exactly where he wants to throw the ball consistently. His ability to read the defense is outstanding. He can also make plays outside the pocket and throw the ball on the run at a high rate. His ability to make throws in the pocket is excellent. He has great mechanics and footwork when he throws the ball. He also reads defenses at a good clip and delivers a catchable ball to his receivers. He is also a sneaky good running quarterback who can take off and go for long runs. He is a legit dual-threat quarterback who is excellent using his legs as a runner.He has improved his ability to read the defense and deliver an accurate ball to his receivers. He has a good arm, and he knows how to put touch on a deep ball. He is also excellent at running when the plays break down, as he keeps his eyes downfield while he throws the ball. Then, as a runner on designed runs, he is good as well. The game has slowed down for him, as he can read defenses at a high level and throw the ball well. He throws a beautiful, deep ball well, as he puts the perfect amount of touch on the ball. The other area of growth for him has been his ability to run. He has done a nice job of reading the edge defender and running the ball on inside zone plays. He recently picked up an offer from Eastern York. He made some of the best passes I have seen from a quarterback we have seen all year. Esbenshade has pinpoint accuracy. On back-to-back plays at the end of the half, he hit his receiver perfectly in stride for big plays. They both were inside post/seam routes, and he threw it only where the receiver could catch it. It was two impressive throws. He also did a good job running the ball for tough yards. At all 3 positions, he is a good athlete who makes plays all over the field. As a quarterback, he does a good job of throwing a deep ball with good touch on it. As a safety, he does a good job of flying around and making plays all over the field. Then, as a wide receiver, he does a good job of making plays after the catch.
