Now it is time to dive into the film from week 5 to see what prospects caught our eye on the defensive side!

DL [player_tooltip player_id='1855455' first='Cade' last='Albrecht'] (Vernon Hills – 2029)

The 6'1” defensive lineman is making an impact already as a freshman on varsity. The defensive end plays well against the run as he made four tackles.

DL [player_tooltip player_id='801714' first='Logan' last='Popovich'] (Bishop McNamara – 2026)

Big bodied defensive tackle that gets push on bull rush. Gets off blocks and gets pressure on quarterbacks. Also plays on the offensive line.

DL Gabriel Enriquez (Thornridge – 2027)

Good size and frame as a defensive tackle that can continue to add strength. Like the quickness and ability to run after the ball. Finds gaps in offensive line to get in the backfield for TFL. Good use of hands as a pass rusher.

DL Daquan Brumfield (Leo – 2027)

This junior 6'3” 264 pound defensive lineman went up against St. Laurence in week 5. The defensive end plays the run well taking on the tackle and getting off it just in time to make the tackle. Can also track down the back down the line of scrimmage off the edge.

DL Anthony Tucci (Bloomington Central Catholic – 2027)

Tucci is a 6'0” 260 pound defensive tackle that brings a sturdy frame and the ability to get off a block to make the tackle.

DL Kanye Williams (Lane Tech – 2027)

Williams went up against Walter Payton Prep in week 5. He is a run stuffing defensive end that gets off blocks and clogs the running holes up the middle.

DL [player_tooltip player_id='1474566' first='Kobe' last='Ferguson'] (Walter Payton – 2027)

The 6'3” 235 pound defensive lineman is a good athlete that can play both inside and out. He runs well for his size and is effective against the run.

DL [player_tooltip player_id='1647085' first='Elijah' last='Reynolds'] (Marian Catholic – 2027)

Reynolds is a 6'2” defensive end that in week 5 against Carmel showed some intriguing tools. He can slide inside as a pass rusher in a NASCAR type package as he did getting a sack using his quickness.

DL [player_tooltip player_id='1549620' first='Blake' last='Pohlman'] (Montini – 2029)

Continue to be intrigued with this freshman defensive end. Stout against the run making plays when they come to his side. He is 6'4” 220 pounds with a ton of projectability.

DL Kahmari Flowers (Richards – 2027)

Flowers is a projectable 6'0” 175 pound defender that is explosive getting in the backfield as a stand up pass rusher. High-motor defender that plays with speed. Explosive pass rusher that hits with force. Runs after the ball when it is going away from him.

LB Fletcher Gregory (Mattoon – 2027)

Outside linebacker is good against the run. Takes on blocks and gets off them to make plays. Like how he lines up and makes low tackles. Several TFL vs Charleston.

LB Logan Meyers (Grant – 2026)

Meyers is a good tackler that takes nice angles to the ball. Also is a solid long snapper for Grant.

LB Jaxson Soliz (Moline – 2026)

The middle linebacker for Moline is a tackling machine. He has good instincts making quick decisions and pursuing the ball. Against Quincy he had 7 tackles and 1 safety.

DB Tyrone Evans (East Aurora – 2027)

Good instincts on the back end as a playmaker that gets his hands on the ball. Breaks well on the ball. Brings value in the kick return game.

DB Logan Kirby (East Peoria – 2026)

The 2026 corner had a big time matchup with Dunlap's star Sutter making several plays on the ball in the air. Also had an interception in the game.

DB Silas Steffen (Morton – 2026)

The Morton defensive back is a rock solid tackler that wraps up and stuffs in the run game. High effort player!

ATH Andrew Hoffman (Neuqua Valley – 2026)

Strong and stocky possession wide receiver on the offensive side. I like him better on the defensive side with how he flies to the ball from his safety spot along with knocking the ball away in coverage.
