To continue my coverage of Tennessee high school football in week ten of the season, I stopped by Lipscomb Academy in Nashville to catch the Mustangs take on Briarcrest Christian. After watching the Saints cruise to a 34-13 victory, here's my full game recap as well as my top performers.

In the first place spot on my list is [player_tooltip player_id='1170988' first='Cam' last='Blivens'], a wide receiver at Lipscomb Academy. Blivens played an outstanding game despite the Saints attempting to lock him down. On top of his ability to deceive the defense and get wide open in the endzone for the touchdown, I liked how Blivens could read the offense like a book on the other side of the ball. Near the end of the game, Blivens proved his defensive playmaking ability, hauling in a clutch interception.

Establishing himself at the helm of the Saints' offense was [player_tooltip player_id='492553' first='Hudson' last='Tucker'], a quarterback at Briarcrest Christian School. Tucker was unstoppable at the helm of the offense from start to finish, throwing for a number of impressive touchdowns throughout the night. What made Tucker so unstoppable was his ability to adapt under pressure, shake tackles, and consistently get the ball into the air in crucial moments.

Another offensive weapon for the Saints that caught my eye was [player_tooltip player_id='1611645' first='William' last='Jones'], an athlete at Briarcrest Christian School. Jones came in clutch in the first half, hauling in a deep pass from Tucker that he would take all the way to the house for the touchdown. In addition to electric speed off the snap, Jones impressed me with his ability to elevate off the ground to make the catch.

One of the most efficient offensive performers was [player_tooltip player_id='905162' first='JD' last='Donaldson'], an athlete at Briarcrest Christian School. Donaldson was a key playmaker for the Saints in the second half, putting three touchdowns on the scoreboard. Donaldson impressed me as a receiver, hauling in an extremely challenging touchdown pass while being guarded by two defenders.

Also making a huge difference was [player_tooltip player_id='1638972' first='Daylon' last='Donaldson'], an athlete at Briarcrest Christian School. What stood out about Donaldson was his ability to haul in the touchdown and lock down receivers on the other side of the ball. Donaldson made it extremely difficult for the Mustangs' offense to get going as he could easily swat the deep pass to the ground and shut down receivers in the backfield.

Game Recap

Briarcrest Christian struck first with 2:35 remaining in the first quarter as [player_tooltip player_id='492553' first='Hudson' last='Tucker'] connected with [player_tooltip player_id='1611645' first='William' last='Jones'] for the touchdown to give the Saints a 7-0 lead over the Mustangs. The Saints' defense would soon come up with a big interception to put Briarcrest Christian back in prime scoring position. This time, Tucker found [player_tooltip player_id='1638972' first='Daylon' last='Donaldson'] in the endzone for the touchdown to give the Saints a 14-0 advantage over Lipscomb Academy. The Saints were back on the scoreboard before long as [player_tooltip player_id='905162' first='JD' last='Donaldson'] blasted past the Mustangs' defense to give Briarcrest Christian a 21-0 lead. Before the end of the first half, JC White would get things going for Lipscomb Academy offensively, finding [player_tooltip player_id='1170988' first='Cam' last='Blivens'] in the endzone for the touchdown. The Saints would be the first to score in the second half as Donaldson muscled his way into the house from a yard out to give the Saints a 28-7 lead over Lipscomb Academy. Donaldson would haul in another touchdown pass not too long after to give the Saints a 34-7 lead as the field goal was no good. Soon after, Lipscomb Academy would come alive offensively to punch in a touchdown. The two-point conversion was no good as Briarcrest Christian went on to win it 34-13.
