BIXBY (1-0) AT SAND SPRINGS

It's the season opener for Sand Springs and it's against the boogeyman of Oklahoma high school football. Bixby comes to town and the Spartans rolled to a 1-0 start behind a 49-21 win over Owasso last week. The Spartans have dominated this series historically and the Sandites are testing themselves with back to back match-ups against 6A-1 #1 and #2 to kick off the season. Sand Springs will rely on an explosive offense, led by one of the best quarterbacks in Oklahoma. Bixby will look to do what they do and pick up right where they left off last week. Both teams expect to contend for the state title in their respective class.

BOOKER T WASHINGTON (1-0) AT DEL CITY (0-1)

Booker T Washington hits the road to take on Del City in a week one match-up featuring two top three teams in Class 5A. Both the Hornets and the Eagles expect to contend for the 5A state championship this season. The Hornets got their 2025 season off with a bang after beating Muskogee 21-14 last week. For Del City, they have to bounce back following a 35-0 setback on the road against Edmond Memorial. Del City beat the Hornets 33-0 last season and have won three straight in the series. Both teams bring in plenty of playmakers and again, this is the must-see match-up in Class 5A this week.

CASCIA HALL (0-1) AT REJOICE CHRISTIAN (1-0)

Defending A-1 state champion Rejoice Christian hosts Cascia Hall Friday night. The Eagles rolled to a 48-27 win over NOAH in week zero while the Commandos stumbled out of the gate, losing 27-6 to rival Holland Hall. Cascia Hall was simply dominant in this match-up a year ago but the Eagles looked outstanding in their week zero win, led by a very explosive and dynamic offense. On paper, this looks like a match-up that could be incredibly high-scoring on Friday night. Cascia Hall is looking to bounce back while Rejoice Christian is looking to continue their roll to start the season. We could see a lot of fireworks.

HERITAGE HALL (1-0) AT LINCOLN CHRISTIAN (1-0)

It's the best rivalry in 3A football renewed as two-time defending champion Lincoln Christian hosts Heritage Hall Friday night. These two teams are incredibly familiar with one another after having countless match-ups in the playoffs. The Bulldogs beat the Chargers twice last season but both times, they had to rally from an early deficit to beat Heritage Hall. Both teams kicked off the 2025 football season in style last week with shutout victories. Heritage Hall beat Clinton 30-0 while Lincoln Christian beat Victory Christian 63-0. It's a match-up of top three teams in Class 3A and a potential preview of a playoff rematch.

JENKS (1-0) AT OWASSO (0-1)

The Owasso Rams are in bounce back mode Friday night as they host the Jenks Trojans in a top four clash in 6A-1. Owasso stumbled in their season opener, losing 49-21 to Bixby. Now, they shift their focus to a Jenks team that they beat twice in 2024, with the second time coming in a triple overtime semifinal thriller. For Jenks, they are 1-0 after going to Edmond and dominating Santa Fe in a 51-7 victory. They put that game away by halftime but they will need to be ready for a four quarter battle on Friday night. Both teams are serious 6A-1 contenders and there will be future D1 talent everywhere.

NEWCASTLE (1-0) AT TUTTLE (1-0)

It's a rivalry but it's been pretty one-sided as Tuttle hosts Newcastle Friday night. The Tigers have dominated this series over the last two decades. They've won 11 straight in the series and have lost only once in the last two decades. Both teams come into this week following high-scoring wins in week zero. Newcastle made the long road trip up to Bartlesville and ran away with a victory over the Bruins. Tuttle made quite the statement in their win last week, beating 5A runner up Guthrie 38-13 in the season opener. Tuttle shut out the Racers 21-0 in their meeting last season but both teams expect to contend in their respective class.

NORMAN AT NORMAN NORTH

Norman North has had this date circled on the calendar for a long time. Not only is it the season opener against their rival but it'll be the first home game on campus for Norman North as they open their new stadium. The T'Wolves host Norman in the annual "Crosstown Clash" on Friday night. Norman is coming off a 2024 campaign where they were one of the top teams in Class 6A-1 and they don't expect to take a step back. Norman North finished the 2024 regular season strong but want to get out to a fast start this season. Both teams have plenty of returning talent to make this game a potential classic Friday.

STILLWATER AT UNION (0-1)

Stillwater opens their 2025 football season with a road trip to Tulsa to face Union. The Pioneers stunned the Redhawks in an overtime classic last season and they come into this year expecting to contend for the 6A-2 crown. Union is looking to bounce back following a tough loss to Bentonville in their season opener. Union will be looking to gain some momentum before facing rival Jenks in week two. The match-up to watch will be Stillwater's passing attack against Union's secondary. Both sides have plenty of next level talent and it wouldn't be surprising to see some fireworks in this particular match-up.

WASHINGTON (1-0) AT SULPHUR

It's the game of the week in our opinion as 3A's #2 Sulphur hosts 2A-1's #1 Washington. The Bulldogs will be opening their 2025 season Friday while Washington has one game under their belt after beating Community Christian 35-6 last season. Sulphur gave Washington their toughest test last year, falling to the Warriors 27-24 in a double overtime classic. We can only hope this season's meeting is as close and competitive as we saw from these two teams last season. Sulphur will not only be looking to start the season with a 1-0 record but with a win, they'll snap Washington's 45-game winning streak.

YUKON (1-0) AT MUSTANG

It's the annual rivalry game between Mustang and Yukon and it'll be the first chance to watch all the new faces take the field for the Broncos. No other way to say it, Mustang reloaded with move-ins this offseason and they open their 2025 campaign with high expectations. They face rival Yukon in the season opener and the Millers come into this week with some momentum after beat Putnam City in their season opener last week. Yukon nearly scored 50 points and will look to keep that going as they face a very talented Mustang secondary. Yukon jumped into the 6A-1 top ten this week while Mustang is a top five team.
