Here are our team game balls for week four of the season!
CLASS AAAA
WHEELING PARK PATRIOTS
Defeated #1 University 42-35
A week after being on the wrong end of our weekly team game balls, the Wheeling Park Patriots took care of business at home against the former #1 rated University Hawks. PRZ WV was in attendance for this matchup of evenly talented teams, and the homestanding Patriots came away with a huge victory with playoff implications in a back-and-forth, offensive fireworks game.

ran wild against the Hawks, rushing for 329 yards and 6 touchdowns on 38 carries as he looks to defend his 2024 Curt Warner Award from last season as the state's best running back. The Patriots' defense gained traction in the second half against a University squad with athletes all over the field. It was a momentum-building win for Wheeling Park after a surprising setback last week on the road.
CLASS AAA
FAIRMONT SENIOR POLAR BEARS
Defeated rival North Marion 27-21
North Marion nearly broke the 23-game losing streak against rival Fairmont Senior in week four, but the Polar Bears found a way to win in overtime to secure the heartbreaking loss for the Huskies. Fairmont Senior saw itself in a 21-14 deficit in the fourth quarter before new transfer quarterback Anthony Smith Anthony Smith 6'2" | 215 lbs | DL Frankfort | 2027 WV rushed for a pair of short touchdown runs.
The Polar Bears' defense stood strong in overtime, forcing North Marion to go 4-and-out on their lone possession after regulation for the first big win of the Mark Sampson era in West Fairmont.
CLASS AA
BLUEFIELD BEAVERS
Defeated AAAA Woodrow Wilson 34-28
Class AA Bluefield picked up a huge win over rival and Class AAAA Woodrow Wilson in week four of the season, as the Beavers are back on track to their former winning ways so far this year. The young Beavers' squad is maturing and coming together quickly, even sooner than some may have thought before the season started. The Flying Eagles had a big advantage in the trenches on paper, but that's why you play the games, as the Beavers rushed for over 200 yards, with 140 going to 2027 RB

This will be the last matchup between these two programs for the foreseeable future, with the gap in classifications now. Bluefield could have bragging rights for a long time if this series doesn't continue, and they'll get a ton of playoff points for defeating a quality AAAA team.
CLASS A:
SHERMAN TIDE
Defeated AA River View 22-6
The Sherman Tide went on the road and defeated Class AA River View this past week for a big win for their program. That'll be a nice boost for their playoff hopes, with some extra points for beating a bigger classification school that should win a few more games this season. 2026 Sherman ATH Trey Lester Trey Lester 6'1" | 165 lbs | ATH Sherman | 2026 State WV did what he does best in the 22-6 win, going over 100 yards in both rushing and receiving and scoring all three touchdowns for the Tide. Their defense totaled 8 sacks in the game, as the Tide defense crashed on the Raiders' quarterback all night.
Sherman now sits at 3-1 on the season with a tough game at Wayne next week, another Class AA school with big playoff points on the line for the Tide.
